While it may not always seem so, I think we’re all rooting for the same thing here. Everyone except @Bigmoe anyway, he just hates everything jets, which is fine and understandable.

I think we need to hope that Aaron Glenn is not a moron and becomes a solid coach, and fast.
we don’t want to start over again next year.

we need to hope that Geno is good enough to win games early so that the team builds confidence, but that he’s not too good that we don’t get to see Cade by the end of the season.

we then need Cade to be Mahomes …. Or just a very good QB

we need the stars to align for us for once

if Cade can be the real deal and Glenn can be the real deal and Mougy can be the real deal, next years draft will be franchise changing.

we cant just suck and hope for the #1 pick. We need to start winning to change things. You can’t win 10 without winning 1.

we need everyone we drafted to play like they were supposed to when we drafted them high and then when we add next years draft, the curse will end

we may also need Namath to leave and begin the colonization of the moon to end the curse too, but that’s a topic for another thread

i don’t know what will happen, but I know what we need to hope for

Well you saw some progress last night.
They actually looked like an NFL offense with Geno.
I think the staff additions are going to payoff for them but I will not expect too much too soon.
Baby steps. Unless of course fate decides to step in.
Then we're screwed.

Like usual! Let’s hope and pray for that not to happen.

You head it on the head perfectly CH! While Klubnik has shown some good to maybe even great signs so far, he is not ready and should not be thrown out there game one of the season. Probably not until mid-season to be honest.

Yes, I personally would like to see him play from game one, but I only want to see that if he’s ready to take on the challenge and I’m not quite sure that he is. Plus, I wouldn’t want him to be rushed and get ruined. I see potentially in this kid and if I’m right, the Jets won’t need to draft a quarterback next year or for more than a decade to come.

The best thing about all this is he’s a fourth round pick, so if I’m wrong and he flops then the Jets haven’t lost anything. Another great thing about this is all signs since high school has shown that Klubnik has the potential to be a first round, top 10 pick and he played like that at times in college. He also was a starter 3-4 years but he didn’t play like that the entire time he was in college.

So that of course has dropped him down to a fourth round pick but he possibly and truly does have the ability to be a franchise guy. Only time will tell! So now in my opinion, the season all lies on Aaron Glenn and his ability on whether or not he can coach and if Klubnik works out. If Klubnik doesn’t work out then AG needs Geno to be fantastic and pretty much lead the Jets to the playoffs or he’s a goner next year.

In my humble opinion. It might be cruel in what I’m saying, but it’s just the facts. The Jets can’t go into next year knowing that Klubnik isn’t the guy and that Geno is not a true bridge quarterback that will help lead them to a playoff team or as close to it as they can get.

I'm rooting for winning now. I'm rooting for Geno to lead us out of the playoff drought, even if Klubnik doesn't get significant playing time as a result. I'm remembering that unlike Rodgers Geno isn't set to retire after this season and potentially has several years left in him.

If we are practically eliminated from the playoffs THEN I am thinking about looking at guys for the future. If Geno plays consistently badly before then, I am howling for the backup with the rest of you.

I'm rooting for Glenn to do a sufficiently good recovery job to end the HC carousel.

I’m with you on this 1000%. I 100% don’t see this happening with Geno Smith but if it does, so be it. I’m a die hard New York Jets fan at the end of the day and that’s all that truly matters! WINNING

Kinda like every year, if the offensive line can play well, we have a chance to improve. If our QBs are on their backs, not so much

seemed like Klubnik got drilled a few times
