At the end of the day, if the Jets go after and can convince what most of you guys seem to want, Tomlin or McDermott then I’m good with it. Now, I’ve made it known that I want a younger OC that will hit on all cylinders for us and coach this team to success for 30 years.

Like what Ben Johnson is about to do for Chicago or Sean Mcvay for the Rams is already doing. That type of popular, high in demand, young and successful OC probably isn’t out there this year. Of course there wouldn’t be when the Jets need a HC. So whatever, if it’s Tomlin or McDermott than so be it. I just want to win!

I think hiring a younger and inexperienced coach poses a great risk we can't afford to take. This organization is mired in a brutal era or futility and losing culture, and it desperately needs a proven hand to change that (with no meddling from Woody).
This is probably asking a lot, but.....

All great points that I can’t argue. It’s just a personal choice that I would like the Jets to strike lighting in a bottle with a young OC, but I know good in damn well that won’t happen! We would never get that lucky being Jets fans.

Tomlin likes the TV job.
I think He's going the Dungy/Herm route.
Possibly as one of their replacements.
McDermott is the clear choice imo.
He has Roster Building Experience.
Something you can't put a price on imo.
He also helped develop Allen and is ready to Coach again in 2027.
He may not want the Job.
That's the only reason I can see for not making such a no-brainer of a move.

If the Jets were lucky enough to hire Tomlin or McDermott, I’m good with that. Hopefully they’ll stick around long enough to help the team win a championship or two. I like to see whoever the Jets hire for them to stick around for at least ten years of success. I don’t think that’s asking for too much. Then again, we are the Jets…
