At pick #55 in the 2nd round, the Arizona Cardinals select Northern Illinois change of pace running back, David Johnson.
With 4.30s speed, an astounding (for a RB) 41.5" vertical, very sharp cutting ability, and the hands expected of a former WR, 6'-1" / 224# Johnson may be the most NFL ready RECEIVING RB to hit the NFL draft since Matt Forte.
With his buff physique & generous size, Johnson looks more the part of a LB than a RB and will be best utilized as a blocking & receiving H-Back out of the backfield in the NFL - similar to the role Hernandez played in NE.
Might be a little bit of a reach, Johnson being a D-II prospect, ranked in the early 4th round, but he fits what the Cards do, so well, it'd be hard to find a better fit at any time in this draft and the Cardinals can't afford to miss on a player that fits their schemes so well.
