Guys, he's not that good. He isn't Brandin Cooks, TY Hilton, Santana Moss, or DJax yet...could he develop into that? I think he can. He does a lot of things well and he's a hard worker.
I dont know if many of you remember TY Hilton coming out, but he was a 4 year starter...as a true freshman out of high school he performed better in college than Dorsett's best season. Hilton senior year he doubled (almost tripled) Dorsett's best year at Miami.
Hilton was a one man offense in college, like Cooks, DJax, etc...Dorsett caught 33 balls...guys like White who some doubt as a 1 year wonder caught 106...Hilton in the 70s...these are
#1 WR prospects...
I still think Dorsett can be a
#2 , but he hasn't done anything in college yet to feel he's on the level of Brandin Cook, DJax, S Moss, or Antonio Brown...
I am very excited about Dorsett as a prospect at
#37 ...but if a team drafts him rd 1, I'll consider it a HUGE reach. If he goes rd 1, IMO, its further proof how much weaker this WR class was than last year. Brandin Cook went in the low 20s last year and caught 100 balls, had 30 rushes, and was their leading KR and PR....Lee, Matthews, and Robinson went later in rd 2 as college standouts...and Dorsett goes rd 1 catching 30 balls at Miami? As a comparison, Santana played with Reggie Wayne and Portis and was catching 45+ balls a year.
I have very strong feelings about his upside...really do...but I feel comparing him to Antonio Brown is comparing him to one of the top 5 WRs in the game who caught 130 passes and 13 TDs last year when he managed just 33 balls for Miami is a huge leap...
