would you want the jets to do this? what if they can draft Leonard Williams at 6 then trade Wilkerson for a pick?

Just when I thought I couldn't hate Idzik any more...

We have a 25 year old known commodity we may part with for a 21-22 year old unknown commodity?

28 year old Jimmy Graham just went for a 1...I guess I'd take a top 20 pick for Wilkerson but would want some more lower picks also. I still dont think going on a free agent spending spree and letting your own talent walk is the right direction for any organization. Your core players come from the draft, not staff for hire...

really hope this is teams fishing around and not an indication of the jets interest in trading mo.

personally i do not trade him for a pick. there is no guarantee a player drafted, even leonard williams, will be as good as he is.

we need to build around our young studs...not trade them for more picks you hope become as good as they are.

I don't move Wilkerson. He's homegrown talent, and trading him sends a negative message to the locker room. Trading Wilkerson to select Williams is one step back, one step forward. And I don't believe either QB (Winston and Mariota) is a sure thing. So trading up into 1 or 2 doesn't guarantee anything.

Kevin, At some point, we all need to quit blaming Idzik for everything. Mike Maccagnan has had plenty of time to close this deal. The problem is Mo's agent seeing the huge dollars paid JJ Watt & Suh, and he feels Mo is worth close to that same type of money. I would not trade Mo.

Idzik had 2 seasons to lock up Mo...Mac has had 2 months to resign Wilk, sign all of the free agents, and prepare for the draft...not sure mac deserves much blame yet...

Mo is a good player but some Jet fans seem to think he's JJ Watt.. I didn't even miss him last season when he was out with turf toe.. When players like Klecko,Gastineau,Abe Ellis etc were missing you saw a big difference with Mo not so much.. Mac met with his agent during the combine and it was reported they were miles apart.. If Mo and his agent don't wise up he very well may be gone.. If I had a choice between Mo and Sheldon it's the rookie of the year 2013 every time..

...he's a top 3 defensive linemen in the entire NFL. he's better than Suh, IMO, and how much did he just get paid? His agent and him sat on their hands for the last 2 years and delivered the company line...your disappointed they didnt take a 3rd slap in the face from the jets organization? Sorry if I agree with them on how many times to turn the other cheek...twice was enough.

He theoretically could be under control by the Jets for three more years, including this one, without the Jets landing a new deal for him. Why would they pull the trigger on a deal now, unless someone comes in offering at least a #1 and other high picks? Or if the Colts want to deal Andrew Luck for him and #6 ... :football-touchdown-

like i said if mac and bowles took some key veteran players aside and discussed it with them they could do this and not lose the lockeroom or have other players say it doesn't look good for him to be traded.

Jets, please don't do it. I will admit it is tempting as someone else mentioned about trading Mo and the #6 for Tampa's 1st and 2nd round picks. However; your giving up a known 24 yr old monster in Mo for unknowns in picks. Whether they draft Williams to replace him or move Coples there full time in his place. Mo is a established beast and you can't mess that up. Not only is he that but he is a great soldier on and off the field and a leader of the team. Can't put a price no that, pay the man and be done with it already!
