Personally, I will go on record saying that I dont endorse trading Wilkerson. BUT...... I have a weird feeling (been saying it for a month now), the Wilk is gone in a draft day trade...... Hello Coples back to DE....

I thought about Coples going back to the line, too. It does make sense schematically.
As a Jet fan IYO he's better then Suh 4 time Pro Bowl and 3 time All Pro.. Do you have a link that says he's a top 3 rated DE(That doesn't come from a Jet site) because the closest ranking I could find was 9th..
I really like Wilkerson and think he's a very very good player but just don't think he's yet a great player. Great players are game-planned against and make great plays at critical times. All those things could definitely happen in the near future. I'd still take Richardson however over him as our best player on the D-line. You also have to consider the fact that Wilkerson might want really stupid money (Suh type money). I'd at least listen to offers. You have to.
What if's - Would you do Mariota for Wilkerson? If Mariota becomes great we are a playoff team for the next ten years. If Wilkerson steps it up to great we could be Houston (JJ Watt reference). Of course everything is based on "IF"

Bill Polian on NFL Live said the Jets moving Wilkerson makes no sense. He and Bruschi were in agreement that he's one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL. Bruschi said he wouldn't trade Wilkerson for the #1 pick. Polian said it would take TWO #1 's to get Wilkerson. Both believe there's no way this happens. Emphasized "proven player" vs. unknown potential of a draft pick.

For me moving mo for a big draft haul is acceptable. The Jets want to give him close to what he's worth, he thinks he's suh. Same problem with Revis.
The hitch is this, Williams is considered a sure thing and you can convert a de paycheck from mo money, to a first round pick under control for 6 years, that financial flexibility allows you to re sign Richardson, and not be in cap hell.

The right offer would have to be two 1's. Or Tennessee giving us #2 overall this year and their 2nd rounder this year. In other words, no way this happens.
Every single player the Jets have is tradeable. We traded Revis and he was way better than Mo is at his position.
Not True.... Trading Revis was a different situation, a different point in time, Cap Hell and different guys running the team.
+1 Plus Revis was considered the JJ Watt at his position.. Mo doing this after a so-so year where he missed games due to turf toe is bad timing on his part..
what exactly is mo doing? skipping VOLUNTARY workouts? big deal. happens with multiple players across the league every single year.
mo's been the good soldier, didn't say a word last year about his contract, didn't raise a stink. and he has not missed any mandatory camps or practices.

Doesn't really matter what he does or doesn't do, to me the only thing that trumps a top 5 DE, is a top 15 or even top 20 NFL QB. So unless trading him produces a true franchise QB, meaning a very good to great reliable NFL QB, or you're 100% sure you can't re-sign him, then you don't move that kind of talent.
