I would ... this guy was Top 15 talent on many boards .... Would put a nice icing on the whole NY Jets draft.
What Hobson said. The point is moot since he is reportedly going to wait till next year's draft.
Edit: my previous sentence is true, unless, he is signed to first rd pick money.
A better question may be would you sign Collins, to top 15-30 pick money, if his name is cleared?
To that, I would.

1. The league has clarified that he CANNOT enter next years draft, he was already eligible for this one and he went un-drafted, therefore the only option available to him is to at some point sign with some team as a UDFA, or never play in the NFL.
2. There are rules in place that only allows teams to pay UDFA's from the UDFA pay scale, so they couldn't give this kid big money if they wanted too.
In other words it sucks if he's innocent, but he's screwed.
I think its three, and you can't offer less years than the standard, just like you can't offer more money. How many years of service does a player have to put in before becoming eligible for big FA $$$?
i doubt he signs. if he sits out the year, he can re-enter the draft next year. gives him time to try and clear his name
Yep, and he can't get more money or less years than the standard UDFA contract either.NFL Statement .... Say he cannot re-enter the draft in 2016.

Short of taking the NFL to court, there's no escape from this mess for Collins.
I think the best he can do, and I'm not even sure if this is allowed, but ideally he can get an agreement from the team he signs with NOT to use the tag on him in three years, so either they re-sign him to a new deal or he's an unrestricted FA.I know I'm rationalizing, but if the worst that ends up happening to this kid is he waits three years to become a multi-millionaire, he should probably count his blessings . . .
If all this kid can do is sign an UDFA contract, I'd sign him pronto! I'd gladly risk some chump change on the chance he gets released.
Maybe he does think he has a way to fight it and isn't listening to offers . . .
He cannot. CBA: "No player may elect to bypass a draft for which he is eligible to apply for selection in a supplemental draft."
