He's not gonna be cut, he made the pro bowl last year and graded out as the best LT in football, 16 Starts, Zero Sacks!Wait until he's cut then snag him then, and bring him in to compete in camp with the other 89.
Mr. Whitworth is obsolete in Cincinnati, with Andre Smith at RT and after drafting two OT's in the first two rounds, he's no longer wanted or needed with the Bengals:
... but we will gladly take him here with the Jets. :smiley-cool11:
Whitworth is 6' 6" 330 and a better run blocker than Brick, so I would play Whitworth at RTI'm all for it but what do you do with D'Brick? RT?
I'll say it again guys, don't get too hung up on he Snacks part of this equation, that was just one suggestion, if we can get him for cheaper, great, but the main thing is that it now looks like Whitworth can probably be had from the Bengals.
I'd give him a two year extension, three years in total, which would take him to 35. He's still playing at an extremely high level and OL's tend to age well, so I think we can squeeze three good years out of him at RT, which wouldn't deter us from drafting Brick's replacement at LT next year too.the question is how much are you willing to pay him for the contract extension he's gonna want. he's still a very good player, but after this year, he will be a 34-year old tackle looking for a last pay day.
