I believe there is a maximum amount of money that a team can be fined in the CBA, and it's nowhere near $5-$10 mil. The Pats will get hurt by the suspension of Brady(6-8 games) and loss of picks. They lost one first rounder for SpyGate, so as a repeat offender, they should lose two(2016 &2017) this time.

without even looking, I bet you are right on the size of fines.

I wonder whether the commissioner has the authority to impose a 500,000 fine AND then require the Pats to reimburse the league for the expense of the report. It's not a fine, its an expense reimbursement....maybe....

If there's a max, I predict the max, unless the NFL lawyers find the creativity to impose expense reimbursement (just like a party in court can be required in some situations to pay the costs of the other side.)

BB was fined 500,000 for Spy gate and that was the Max.. They also lost a 1st rd pick which was the 31st pick..
