I don't know we have had some doozies mirer,O'Donnell,he'll even easison wasn't the same guy they had in cinn.
O'Donnell with Parcells I felt played well in '97, I think coaching had a lot to do with his decline with Kotite. Then he did pretty well for Tennessee subbing in for McNair. He was serviceable.
Mirer was an already known bust from Seattle then the Bears were foolish enough to trade away a 1st rounder for him. I just think Parcells ego got the best of him trying to prove to New England that Rick was supposed to be the guy that should have been 1st overall instead of Drew Bledsoe.
As for Boomer, in '93 and '94 there was a bit of life back in the stadium especially after the Browning Nagle debacle in '92. Where it truly went down hill for him was after the fake spike, hence the big time signing of the aforementioned Neil O'Donnell.
My main gripe is that all of these players at one point showed some sort of flash:
Rick Mirer's completion record his rookie year were off the charts.
Neil O'Donnell brought the Steelers to the super bowl.
Boomer Esiason was a stud at Cincinnatti.
Geno has shown nothing to indicate that he has potential. I just feel there is always some sort of excuse coming from the "pro-geno camp" stating the reason for his poor play. It's like arguing a moot point trying to justify David Klinglers career with the BENGALS.
IMHO, I have never seen such a horrendous QB play for my beloved team than Geno. It seems he's more preoccupied with hanging out with Jay-Z, publicity stunting dishing out practice videos like he does every year making fans think he's righting his own ship. He just doesn't get it and i'am happy that this new regime is trying everything in their power to move on from this mess.
