No. This is the season that we find out what all of us already knew. Geno sucks. The statistics have said exactly that for two straight seasons now. If he hadn't at least shown some flashes of being the real deal then he never will and he was never meant to.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the starter if he can stand up straight. Geno will be cut at the end of the season.

Look on bright side...he got us to FG range 5 times..plus we also had 5 fg in the road NE game. (also one close scoring play was nullifies by a Winters penalty).a game which we clearly should have won...so even if he improves by scoring a TD one more time in each game in the red zone ..both of those games are victories...and did he struggle in the red zone..yes..HOWEVER...our offensive weapons were somewhat limited...this is why Brandon MArshall's presence will be a HUGE factor...even if Marshall is a modicum of what he was it will take attention away from all the other guys..and make scoring in the red zone a hell of a lot easier....add in Devin Smith..and should make the 20-30 yard area better also....

OTAs and TC are on the horizon and the new guys, MacBowles will allow Fitzpatrick, Heaps, Simms and Smith to fairly compete for the QB starting position.

Not everyone on this site feels Geno sucks. Its not just myself that believe Geno has a chance with this roster to play very well this year. I could less what you think about my opinion and I'm sure you could less how I feel about yours. So what are we discussing here, whats the point? My statement was a blanket statement and not directed directly towards you but if the shoe fits, wear it. Anyway, neither you or me or anyone else on this site makes any decisions about the Jets and who plays. Which is a great thing so lets just leave at that.

Remember New Orleans? How about Miami? There's more in the highlight reel, too, for both years.

The point is, Geno has had some good games, in addition to a handful of stinkers. But at least I'm being honest about it. I'm not using generalizations to make my point. I have no agenda. He's nowhere near as bad as you say he is.

There's a difference between a flashy touchdown and seeing that your QB is starting to read progressions. There's a difference between a good run and avoiding sacks that take the team out of scoring range. There's a difference between a nimble play and understanding that you CANNOT make any more of those rookie mistakes instead of regressing back into that style of play over and over again.

Yes, I could on to youtube and watch this video that strokes Geno and his Chuck Norris moves. I just don't care to. I have WATCHED every single play he's made in a Jets uniform and I know it is not meeting expectations from any Jets fan.

I am not a geno supporter but I think the team in general was handcuffed by our prior coach. I think geno can be a very good number 2 qb in this league and if all other options are exhausted he could be a ray Lucas type but he is not who you want leading a franchise for several seasons.

I agree his bad and not being able to show much progress hurts him. I think he has alot of talent and enough to be a very good QB, but that is where it ends he has the talent but not the brains to be a very good qb.

Like I keep saying talent without brains works very good in college but in the NFL you need both but geno only has one and talent alone won't be enough in the NFL.

You specifically said that outside of a "meaningless game against Miami" that Geno hasn't showed anything.

I was just showing you that you're incorrect in that assertion.

Agreed. Some of us realize that when you throw an unprepared raw qb into the fire with little to no weapons, these are kind of results you can expect. Some folks don't believe in context; regardless of how one feels about Geno, THE BEST CASE SCENARIO is that he take that next step in his development. I mean don't we WANT our recent 2nd round pick to justify his draft position? Hasn't it been said it takes 3 YEARS to judge a player? Especially one with who was so raw coming out of college.

Many discount any positive effect Gailey will have; or the addition of bonafide play makers including a true # 1 receiver (for the first time in his career); or just by having played 2 full years in the NFL which included a very humiliating benching. (I think he handled it very well; how someone handles adversity says a lot about their character. He definitely played better; there can't be any dispute about that.)

We some how went 8 -8 with him as a raw rookie but some folks feel it will be armegeddon if he wins the job this season. The key word there is WIN. No one is going to be handed the job and that includes Fitzgerald. It will be won on the field.

All the internet posturing in the world is not going to change that.
