Our new OC, Chan Gailey - his resume

WORTHY of being noted.......

Gailey had all of his success with pro QB's like John Elway and Troy Aikman leading the way. His career immediately went to sh*t when he was forced to use Ryan Fitzpatrick as his QB in Buffalo.

Does that at all sound familiar to us?

I think it does. We already know Ryan Fitzpatrick will inevitably ruin the Jets chances at the playoffs. You cannot win this guy. Ryan Fitzpatrick SUCKS.

What's worse is Chan Gailey's already come out with the GRAND plan of having Geno start. No weighing their options, no QB competition in TC, just simple appointed GENO SMITH as the starting QB of the NYJ.

Does that at all remind of you of what REX RYAN did with Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith?

It's no wonder why the Jets are a f*cking punch line by NFL fans.

This will NOT end well. I guarantee you. It will NOT end even the least little bit pretty. It will be UGLY.

We have already seen what Geno can do and the overall package is simply not acceptable. Even if Gailey manages to get Geno to do an about face and stop making all of the STUPID decisions with the football, does ANYONE honestly think we're looking at a real live franchise QB?:roflmao:

Let me save everyone the suspense......

At very BEST, we are looking at a 2nd string QB. Certainly nothing you can win it all with. This guy will wear out his welcome everywhere he goes with his constant handling of the football like a loaf of bread, taking sacks that take the team out of scoring range, interceptions, fumbles, etc.

I am relaxed. I am just choosing to enlighten us about the current terrain we find ourselves in. It's a SH*T sandwich.
You GUARANTEED that WRECKS was a great head coach, speaking of FECES sandwiches

gailey hasn't had this good of a team in a long while.

our QB's can be avg because besides the oline we are stacked everywhere else.

all the QB has to do is not throw away the game.

we are in the same situation sanchez/rex were in the first two years when they made the afcc game.

Whether I am right or wrong about that remains to be seen, but HOW does that change the Jets current situation? Or are you just trying to spew venom at me because you do not like me telling the truth about the Jets in 2015?

Listen, YOU are the one that was telling me that Gailey is going to use Geno in a pass happy offense to set up the run. I don't believe it. I don't believe Gailey is that stupid. I believe Gailey is going to use Geno as a hand off machine. He's going to handcuff Geno and allow him to do only very simple plays that Gailey is confident he can execute. He's NOT going to allow Geno to run because Geno carries the ball like a loaf of bread. He can't be trusted doing that. He's going to allow Geno to take slightly less than what the defense is giving the Jets offense.

But if what you're saying is correct, GENO will surely turn every bit of good our defense and running game does into an extremely large, hot, steamy pile of SH*T. That's just what he does and if you need proof of such a proclamation, see 2013 and 2014.

This is the most talented team we have had in a really long time. Our QB situation is not the best but a new system from a OC that said he would build a system around the QBs that works for them should at least ease you up a bit.

I would normally say that is all offseason fluff that we've heard before but judging by Gailey's past history, he has shown that he is able to do that. He did it in Pittsburgh, Dallas and in college.

so what exactly was your QB plan, coach lombari???

you think geno sucks and fitz sucks. so who do you play? do you want to go with petty or simms? would you have taken another QB in the draft? would you have signed a different FA QB in the off-season? if so, who???

you are so great at criticism. how about you enlighten us with your wisdom about how you would have addressed the jets QB situation this off-season. let's see your plan.

In summary your entire premise is incorrect because Ryan Fitzpatrick has been able to manage the QB position with a number of teams with positive TD/Int ratios and a 60+ QB rating. As he did last year in Houston. Many (most) of those teams had offenses and defenses weaker than the one Maccagnan has assembled for Bowles for this season

I don't believe your sandwich theory is correct. Maybe they think so in your local media, on WEEI and NESN but I think it is flawed

Didn't realize that you and Chan Gailey were soo close. I'm surprised he let you say publicly his gameplay for all 16 games. I hope it doesn't bite him and the Jets in the ass.

Ok, well being that you are taking that logical approach, which obviously differs from Renegade, WHAT will they eventually settle on for an approach?

And don't play dumb with this question. We all know that when you are issued a hand with terrible QB's but have a good running game and a most likely great defense there is only ONE way that you approach offense.

So please, give me your best educated guess on what offensive approach Chan Gailey and the powers that be will ultimately take?

Well, first of all, MOST importantly I would not give anyone anything. I would tell everyone of our QB's that we are not getting acceptable play from the QB spot. We MUST get better at the position if we expect to grow as a football team. I would tell every QB on the roster that they WILL have an opportunity to win the starting QB gig. They may not get a LOT of playing time with the 1st string, but because we have so many QB's to try, you MUST make the most of every opportunity you get. The guy that does that the most is MY guy. That guy will get my 100% support and admiration because he WON the QB competition, he wasn't just simply given something when he clearly did not deserve it.

From a coaches standpoint, the BEST play that we get still will not be good enough, but at least we know we have the best guy starting.

Then, because we are so limited with what we can do with the QB, I would have him take on a very safe approach to offense. I would design a lot of plays that can exploit what he does well. I would NOT allow him to do anything that could get the team in trouble. I would run a run first offense that tries to establish LOS dominance and MAKES the opposing team commit to 8 and 9 players in the box to defend the run. Then once the opposing has committed? I would run a lot of roll outs and play action. At that point, it would present the LEAST amount of risk to any QB we have. He would basically be looking at one on one coverage.

That would give our QB the BEST chance at succeeding.

Running a pass happy approach that SPECIFICALLY passes first to set up the run is the dumbest, most incompetent approach any OC could possibly take. Specifically because our QB's SUCK. It would allow our QB to singlehandedly RUIN whatever good our defense and running game does.

Once Mariota was gone off the board at number 2, we had no hope for this season anyway. But making our QB's EARN everything is the best and only way to determine 1) WHO is our future 2) If none of our current QB's are our future at least we know we must do something in next years draft 3) we will at LEAST get the best play from the best guy on the roster. That would maximize our chances at winning in 2015.

Well, that's fine. You have a right to be positive if that is what you think. I also admire it. But that does not exist in my DNA. I can only be objective about things. Objectively, speaking Geno has been a disaster since being drafted and Fitz has NEVER managed to muster even so much as a winning record with any team he has ever QBed.

For me, the Jets ONLY get better beyond this season. If Petty turns out to be the real deal, then he'll be starting as quickly as humanly possible. Maybe they draft a QB in the 2016 draft? Maybe they manage to pull off a trade? (not likely).

But really that's the only way I see the Jets being anything better than a team that could POSSIBLY win a wildcard spot and immediately get their clocks cleaned by the first team they face in the playoffs. That's their absolute CEILING. ANY other scenario and they do not make the playoffs and likely have a losing record.

Now, if that is something you enjoy watching? FINE. Have at it. But I must say I find that rather NUTS.

I will never enjoy watching garbage like that. I want the team to get better and eventually win a championship.

first i never said it would be pass happy. I said they will do alot of short passes to set up the run and stretch the field.

Have you been watching film of gailey's offense because I have and one thing gailey is not is run first even when he had thigpen and stewart he was always looking to pass first.
