Yup - this is what it has come down to now. Need a start like the one we got from DeGrom today to get a win. A lot more fun than last night's game.

Any chance we could get a major league bat for Niese at the deadline?
He has pitched better over his last few starts and left handed pitchers always seem to have some value. The old fat man can get us through this season with the 4 young guns. If a guy like Wheeler or Montero is ready to go next season, I am not sure Niese would be in our plans for 2016 anyway. Maybe a contender who is looking for a left-handed 4th or 5th starter would have some interest in him.

Murphy might be back from his tweak tonight after only a month or so and our vastly overpaid Captain Malingerer might be back from his hamstring bruise by September

As for the Mets .the Grandyman led off with a homer...Mets just got their second hit in the bottom of the fifth..
And Tejada got hit with a pitch and taken out after the inning...look for a return in August

Sounds like a great outing for Thor tonight. Thanks to fvckin Comcast, I missed it. For some reason, I lost the baseball package last night. Gonna be about a week before a svc tech comes out to restore service. Also going to miss Matz start on Sunday.

Does not matter how good the starting pitching is, they are not going anywhere unless they can find a way to score some runs.
