A couple of frustrating games, Gotta find a way to take this lasst game from Pitt today -- a potential postseason opponent. If we win the Division, maybe someone else will knock them off for us, they sure seem to have our number.
Blown out by Pitt the 1st time we played them losing all 3.
This time we've lost 2 heart breakers with out 4th and 5th starters. If we meet in the PO's I feel we'll be ready to get over the hump.

Sadly in the seventh they brought Las Vegas reliever Booby "Gasoline Can" Parnell to start the inning
Walked first batter, the .202 hitting SS, then Geno'd a sure DL grounder into center field.
This piece of crap has given up two,.still has only one out and is walking the ballpark. Somebody run out there and set fire to his dumbassed beard

The good news is that we are done with the Pirates and Cubs for the season -- and we are 21 games above .500 against everyone else. And we are still 4 up on the Nats, pending today's game (Giants up 4-0 in the 5th right now).

Hoping Montero back soon. Offense seeing a lot of off-speed stuff. They're over-aggressive falling behind early in the count(ie Uribe)

At least the Cubs and Pirates are likely to go against each other in the wild card game. So we will probably only have to deal with one of them in the post season. We have been ok against St L. 3-4 against them.

The Mets have now completed the THREE game hard part of those 25 games I listed prior to again facing the Gnats on September 9
There are now 18 remaining until that date. Unless they collapse completely, the team especially if Wright and Matz make it back has an excellent chance at 12 wins out of the next 18.
If anything close to that happens, they should be leading the division by 8 or more when that Gnats series commences in September

NEW YORK -- Rafael Montero's rehab assignment on Sunday apparently did not go entirely as planned.
Although Montero completed three innings in a start for Class A St. Lucie, the right-hander was unable to go the scripted length and will be unable to help the New York Mets in either a starting or relief capacity anytime soon.
Montero has been dealing with what has been labeled rotator-cuff inflammation since he landed on the disabled list in late April.
