Poor Mac doesn't know what hit him.

Gotta Give Mac credit, Leonard Williams seemed like overkill when we took him. I loved the pick and went to the mattress for him, but a lot of Jets fans had reservations because Bowles plays a base 3-4 and we already had Wilkerson and Richardson. Some fans felt like we should have taken Kevin White, some felt like we should have traded down, and some wished we had traded up for Cooper, Fowler or one of the QB's. Not everyone was thrilled with the Williams Pick, and they had real reasons to be lukewarm. That pick was not a no-brainer. There are GM's who would have passed on Williams.

I'm a big believer in BPA within reason and I said before the draft that in the unlikely event Williams slides to 6, I would take him, but the reaction to that question, right here in this forum, was mixed ... and I do believe some former Jets GM's would have found a way to pass on Williams.

BUT NOW, in retrospect, that pick was a GIFT FROM GOD, and THANK GOD Mac did not give it back.

Don't forget, at that point, we didn't know it, but Macc knew he had already flunked at least 3 drug tests in 2 years

Let's hope the kid is the real deal and is a "straight arrow".

That 2013 draft could be shaping up as the worst draft in Jets history.
