i thought i read it was a family friend. perhaps his brother's best friend. regardless of how he died, if someone close to him died, there shouldn't be an issue of attending a friend's funeral. geno did say he would reimburse IK, but obviously was negligent in getting it done, and from reports, acted childish about the matter

I'm sorry, I err on the side of Ik. No one in a civilized society should crack someone, but seems like the dude was being taunted. $600 or $6000. You owe money. That isn't an entitlement. If you had any sort of leadership quality, you would apologize again for not being there, and give him $1000. Should have been paid day 1 of camp.

Just because Ik makes $600k, I actually have respect for him that he values money more than Geno. His career could be over at any time. Geno makes triple his salary per year. Why berate the guy for wanting to collect $600. There was probably a time in life where his family didn't have that to their name.

For all anyone knows, Geno blew it off, and Ik was pissed. Devil's advocate--if Geno did have a death in the family, why would Revis, Mangold, Colon, Bowles state both were at fault? Why he didn't show up is moot

A non profit organization IK is involved in sponsored an event for kids. 600 dollars was advanced to Smith when he agreed to attend to cover travel costs. Whatever the reason, Geno failed to show up. Such an advanced is NOT a gift. Geno was obligated to pay back this advance to this non profit organization.

For a month he failed to do so despite apparently being asked about it a number of times. Tuesday, according to eyewitness reports, IK asked again and Geno advanced toward him, stuck his finger in the face and said he wasn't paying him and said " What are you gonna do about it?"

Smith provoked the incident even accordingly to the NY Post article recently used to defend him by a poster

Not something good like we resigned Mo, no additional suspension for Richardson, not even we traded geno for Aaron Rodgers...nah, teammates running around punching each other.

I do think this will haunt our season and mediocre, 8-8, is best case scenario. What do you think, Hobson? is this something you honestly feel the Jets will shake off and make a play-off run?
