I don't know if he is a scumbag POS, because I have heard some stories about how he is great with fans.... That being said, I do think it is abundantly clear that he is immature as hell, and not all that bright. It's also apparent that he has lost the locker room (or never had it in the first place).
The question now is how the team handles his eventual exit from the team. If Fitz plays well and keeps the starting job, that is best case scenario. We have a placeholder QB and can go get a young guy next year. Geno can be released/traded for a late pick next offseason.
However if Fitz plays poorly and Geno comes back and plays OK then it gets a bit more complicated. iF this happens, it is going to be hard for the team to walk away from him, even if he is just viewed as a backup going forward. I'm also not sure he has the makeup to be the guy to backup whomever we draft. Not sure I want him mentoring anyone.
Why can't everyone here now just acknowledge what is clear by reading between the lines?
Geno Smith is an A$$hole. He's a scumbag, a real POS.
In no way do I condone IK's actions. He should have been cut. But it's clear to me and it should be to everyone else also, that Geno decided to stiff one of his very own teammates. Geno does not realize or acknowledge what he's been told over and over again. He has a higher responsibility. With that responsibility it is incumbent for Geno to show integrity/honesty toward his teammates and set the right example.
He did not do that here. He took the very shallow and extremely immature way out. And that's how you arrive at knowing Geno Smith is a POS.
Try not to spin things because you are a Jets fan. Just acknowledge that just like everything else, things do not always run smoothly. They may not run smoothly because you have the wrong guy on your team. He upsets the chemistry of the team. Geno is a problem here. The sooner people realize that and acknowledge it, the sooner we can realize what we need to do to move forward and fix it.
