probably a challenge to flynn for the initial #2 QB spot. flynn seems to be at least a week away from practicing

Flynn's not getting better
I heard a former player once say "when you've got four or five QB's in camp, it means you don't have a QB".
Now, I'm a little more optimistic about Fitzpatrick than that, but the point is still somewhat valid.

i'm not so sure. geno and flynn are injured. heaps is PS material only. fitz is the starter and petty isn't ready to be the backup in the regular season.
not sure this is any reflection on fitz. just that they are unsettled on who will start the season as his backup, with a view that they don't want to rush petty.

If we sign Johnson, we still only have four
Josh Johnson with his 5 TD's and 10 INT's. I would rather go with Petty.

IMO they are working Johnson out for the future. In case Flynn still isn't ready for the Eagles game. If Petty doesn't do a self destruct game against the Giants, I's go into the season with the lQB's as they are. Petty #2

IMO Heaps showed so little I hope he is not in consideration for a future PS spot

Fitzpatrick, G. Smith, Flynn, Johnson & Petty. Why do we need 5 qbs? I always considered Heaps just a TC arm.

Bowles said today in his post practice presser, when asked why they were working out Johnson. "Just kicking the tires" Johnson was probably upstairs signing his contract.
Almost as funny as last week when Macc gave his impromptu presser during practice and talked about all the things they were doing to get a QB, including a trade , but it wasn't likely to happen for some time, and hour and a half later it was announced they had signed Flynn.
They must walk away from these pressers laughing and saying, "what a bunch of suckers"

Think they are afraid Flynn won't be ready for the season, and don't want to put any "starting" pressure on Petty
