Who is Smith on the serviceable to valuable list? You're not referring to Geno are you?
No, Alex Smith. Let me correct that, lolWho is Smith on the serviceable to valuable list? You're not referring to Geno are you?
Can't argue that, lol.I like the fact that Fitz has completed 67% of his passes. Geno and Sanchez could barely complete 67% of their handoffs!!
I would say so also. I think Petty should be the #2 .to be honest i think fitz nor petty needs to play
i would even go as far as saying i think petty has passed geno on the dc.
He can also run, make plays on the fly and also took his team to a NFC championship if I'm correct and the Chiefs to the playoffs. Speaks for something.Alex Smith was a bum the majority of his career. The guy can't throw further than you...you could say his career is on par with Fitz...but he is accurate and doesn't turn ball over.

Ok so maybe he is in the serviceable category. I wouldnt put him below that or below Fitzpatrick. Fitz in 10-11 years hasnt taken one team to the playoffs if I'm correct. A. Smith did, well not by himself but he carried his weight helping the team get there. He didnt throw one touchdown to any of his receivers last year. In fact, he threw one to Jeremy Maclin in this year's preseason. It was the first TD to a KC WR since 2013.
I don't recall him taking anyone to the NFC championship. I thought he was benched for Kaepernick. That's when the 9ers went on a run. Alex Smith is a downgrade to Fitzpatrick in my opinion. It all depends on the team and system he is on.
Don't like my post or opinions, dont read them and definitely don't respond to them. Problem solved!I could be wrong, and I don't pretend to be some sort of interwebz guru of QB evaluation like others here, but I believe Alex Smith did not throw a single TD to a wide receiver last season for KC while Ryan Fitzpatrick threw something in the area of 5 or 6 in one single game last season for Houston
Edit...

To all that want to debate or argue or throw little suttle or dumbass comments (thats to a particular person) at me about this valuable or serviceable Fitz status, we can just stop now. Until he proves it on the field, no one will convince me he is anything more then serviceable. If and when he proves it, I will gladly admit I was wrong.
I don't think many think Fitz is anything more than servicable, but that is still an upgrade over the rest of the guys here...admit it, that screen pass was best you can remember in some time here, pre-season or regular season.
If you want to say he's valauble for all those reason and not his ability to play on the field, I will give you that. But if your saying he is valuable because of his talent level and what he's done over his NFL career, we'll have to disagree.
I'll go with this, cant argue this at all. He's valuable to the Jets because our other options are worse.
I agree his value diminishes when compared to other QBs around the league, but that's irrelevant to our need to protect him as much as possible . . .
