Today was all about coaching...

Excellent coaching. They made the proper adjustements during 1/2 time. Though as Mainejet stated, it was an over all perfomance that everyone fine tuned themselves to play discipline football.

No Sacks given up and 3 sacks for the Defense........ You win the battles in the trenches you generally win the game... We did that.. good coaching... and good execution

When was the last time you saw in game adjustments like we saw yesterday? Not in the last 4-6 years that for dam sure and we have a leader that his team emulates....

i came away very satisfied gailey & fitzpatrick ran a absolute textbook 2 minute offense to take the lead going into halftime & coach bolwes putting together enough adjustments to pitch a shutout in the second half!!

only four penalties worked for me as well..

the two minute drill was a thing of beauty. I forgot what it looked like...LOL

Granted, this was an ideal opponent for the first game with the new regime. Having said that, I saw some very positive things from the coaching staff:

1. In Bowles' post-game remarks, he kept emphasizing that many areas needed improvement. Parcells did this all the time. Don't let 'em get too full of themselves after a win.
2. Second half adjustments.
3. An absence of things that used to drive me nuts, such as dead ball penalties, wasted time-outs due to too many/too few men on the field, etc.
4. Offensive play calling that was very well balanced.

Yes sir! Bowles seems to truly have the goods. The entire season will tell the true story but do far so good.

Not sure where to put this, so I'll say it here.

There seem to be a lot of comments about how Marshall's strip was "game changing" or we were "lucky McCown fumbled at the goal line". I won't argue those statements per-se, but if we're going to be a quality team I don't think either of those would have sealed our fate if they hadn't happened.

Great teams don't just minimize bad stretches, they also overcome them. Sometimes by having a "game changing play", and other times by just being the better team over the course of 60 minutes of football. While I enjoy the former as much as the next guy, it's the latter that I'm more excited to see on a consistent basis . . .
