Any word if Hilton is playing?
I read a report this morning that Pagano said he feels a lot better about Hilton's chances of playing Monday night than he did earlier in the week. Unless its a smoke-screen, it sounds like he expects Hilton to play.

Colts WR T.Y. Hitlon likely to play Monday

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is optimistic that wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (knee, questionable) will play Monday night against the Jets, the Colts' official site reports. Pagano told reporters Saturday that he's more optimistic than he was earlier in the week that Hilton will play Monday.

If Hilton isn't 100%, I don't think his presence on the field is going to be much of a game changer. I heard Mathis is also questionable but might play.

Bottom line for the defense this game is all about getting to Luck before he rips us apart no matter who is on the field, and not letting him run up the middle for first downs.

On offense, the possible loss of Ivory is concerning but we need to shred the Colts depleted defense both running and passing. No excuses.

we need a pass rush. Bills were getting to him without an issue. Hope bowles's blitz schemes can do the same.

We have to find a way to win this game or the Patriots are going to runaway and hide before we reach mid October.

They are now a MORTAL LOCK to start the season 4-0

Next week they have Jacksonville at home, and the Pats are not the Dolphins, they will run Jacksonville out of the building.

The following week they have Dallas with no Tony Romo and no Dez Bryant ... Dallas might as well concede that game.

So the Patriots are starting 4-0, its in the bag, and if we want to keep this division interesting we have to keep pace, we have to find a way to upset the Colts and keep the pressure on NE, otherwise they will win this division in a cake-walk, without breaking a sweat, we won't even make them work for it, their only concern will be the #1 seed.

It will be tough but I want the Jets to be up there at 2-0 with the Pats. I can't stand how long they've been at the top.

Since 1978, 69% of the teams that start the season 2-0 made the playoffs. Let's go Jets!

I don't have a great feel for this game.

In the interest of full disclosure, I picked the Colts in the JFU Pick'em contest and I picked the Colts -7 in the Spreads contest. But, obviously I wouldn't mind being wrong on this one.

I still don't have a great feel for this Jets team, or for Todd Bowles. I think he's a good X's and O's guy, I think he'll have some interesting defensive packages and blitzes, but I don't have a good feel for him as a motivator and not sure how the team will respond on national TV coming off an easy win.

On offense, it will be the same old story - don't turn the ball over, and control the clock.

So, will it be "ground & pound", or "ground and get pounded"?

I think the Jets either get blown out, or win a close one. Hopefully the latter.

I'm with you Johnny. I don't think Bowles Looks like a great motivator from afar. We shall see. Let's hope he has some stuff up his sleeve to motivate this team. I like everything he has done but I don't have a feel for him and this is of course because he's new. I am hoping for the best.

This is a big test. First nationally televised game, coming off a blowout against a team many consider one of the top teams in the league.

At this point in time I don't think it's about "motivation" . if anything we learned from Rex is you can only keep teams super high, and fired up for so long.

What the Jets need here is a sense of professionalism. Execution. Don't take stupid penalties. Be in position. Complete your assignment. Discipline. Most of all, don't turn the ball over.

If they do that, they will be in the game.

I've said it before on this thread and I'll say it again, Jets have to with stand the first maybe even the second quarter rush of the Colts and their fans. If they can do that we have a real shot. Fitz ofcourse, well the whole offense has to limit or not turn the ball over as well but if the Colts get on top of the Jets that 1st quarter and keep that momentum going, it may be all down hill from there. The Jets can't get into a offensive scoring battle with the Colts or any team period. They have to play within themselves and that is great defense, dominate o-line play, run-run-run and consistent passing game. A little special teams magic will always help also.

Per Cimini tweet:

Todd Bowles will be trying tonight to become the fourth Jets head coach to start his tenure with a 2-0 record. The others: Al Groh (4-0 in 2000), Rex Ryan (3-0 in 2009) and Pete Carroll (2-0 in 1994). Only Ryan made the playoffs. Groh and Carroll were one-and-done.

Oh I definitely remember Otis; big, bald, mean looking dude, the quintessential Raider from back in the day, what I didn't know was that he went to Mars College. Thats a heck of a memory, Fud.

Do you remember MNF where they pan in and his head is steaming .... LOL it was one of the best shots they ever had. He was a beast...

With all due respect, i could not disagree more.
I feel like Bowles has this Jets team right where he wants them. He has the team well disciplined and has an us vs the world approach, silently.

The Jets have IMHO, all the pieces that all great defenses have in order to win a championship. Sure our QB isn't a HOF'r, but he runs along the lines of a Jim McMahaon, Brad Johnson & Trent DIlfer, in which he doesn't have to do much as long as he doesn't commit the morbid turnovers. Fitz can do the job with the WR core and power run game we need in order to win games. Even the ones that the opposing team out weighs our own QB.

I honestly feel this team resembles very much to the 2011 San Francisco 49ers. Coming off a wretched season from '10, no one gave them much hope with a then rookie head coach Jim Harbaugh. He had set the tone early in that training camp on what he wanted from his team and he got just that.

There are many parallels to that team and the Jets team here. I honestly feel our team this monday night will begin to surprise many football followers, even our own fans.

Thank you ....
