Sprained Knee for Cro

Great! What's the time frame of his return?

if Skrynes and Williams can hold down the fort, whatever is required, I hope they add 1 more week. Cro will try to come back early...like when he wouldn't sit when his hip was aggravated in his last stint with us. If we're watching meaningful games late in the season, I want Cro 100%

Good point. I remember week 2 last year when we tried to bring Milliner back too early from his ankle injury and he was nowhere near ready to go against Nelson and the Pack and he got destroyed.

Make sure Cro is 100% healthy with the depth we have, there is no reason to rush him back.

Absolutely no reason to rush Cro back... Let him take 2-3 weeks to be 100%

Williams and McDougal can definitely hold down the fort. Heck, IMHO, they are on the up and up of their respective careers.

Well, now it is time to confront the real issue with a healthy Cro - his declining play. He got burned like I have never seen him get burned in the Cleveland game. He got completely burned by the double move. He hasn't played well since returning from Arizona.

Will this be his last season with the Jets? If he falters the way he did in the Browns game during the regular season, WHO can they replace him with? I'm hoping Marcus Williams can hold his end of the bargain. Also hoping we can get some kind of extended play from Dee Milliner, although that does look hopeless.

More like he was expecting safety help up top that never came on that play.

The answer is NO and we got that directly from Coach Bowles.

He was asked about that on Monday and he didn't even let the reporter finish the question, cut him off cold and said NO, he was not expecting help. Unlike Rex, it seems like Bowles is not covering for guys who make stupid mistakes. Crow just bit on STOP & GO on 3rd & 20 and let the receiver blow right past him, which is inexcusable.

This is why I was totally down with Revis and Skrine during the off season, but I thought Crow was unnecessary, overkill, and that money could have been better spent elsewhere, like maybe on another OT or TE (I really wanted the Jets to target Julius Thomas), but thats besides the point, the point is, Crow's last year with the Jets was AWFUL, he looked shot and was getting burned left and right, just like Sunday, thats why I was in no hurry to bring him back.

That said, he's here and I'm rooting for him, but its the one move we made this off season that I didn't love.

cro is effectively on a 1-year deal. he has not a penny guaranteed to him next year and zero cap hit if we cut bait after this year.

and for the talk that cro was done with the jets 2 years ago, while that may have been true, we should keep in mind, he played well last year...and bowles was his DC. so i'm gonna go with what bowles thought of cro based on his 2014 performance with the cardinals more than what fans think of cro based on 2013 performance with the jets (when he had a bad hip). i should add i was in the boat with those that wanted to move on from cro after 2013, so i'm not disagreeing with the assessment. just saying bowles had more recent data to work with.

You should pay better attention...... Todd Bowles was caught being miked up and was heard saying to Cro in advance of exactly THAT play from the sideline, WATCH THE OUT AND UP CRO!!. He said it several times to Cro and Cro did not hear it.

The fact is, Cro was NOT getting safety help over the top. He just committed a very egregious infraction as a cornerback.

Maine is right, I saw it too, I thought it was inexcusable to begin with that Crow let the WR get behind him on a STOP & GO on 3rd & 19, but last night I watched Inside the NFL and they had Todd Bowles mic'ed, and its even more inexplicable.

Bowles knew what play was coming, he knew the route Benjamin would take before it happened, and he screamed to Crow while also motioning with his hands; "OUT & UP, CROW, WATCH THE OUT & UP!!", he literally told him what was coming and HE STILL bit on the double move!

The only thing I can hope is that he didn't see Bowles, because he was literally screaming and frantically motioning with his hands what route was coming, and after the play you could hear Bowles say to himself, I told him what was coming!

Incidentally he screamed out to Marcus Williams on his INT that "they are coming after you" and motioned an out, but Williams, unlike Crow, listened to his coach and got the pick. But I'm impressed with how Bowles saw those plays coming before they happened. I've watched lots of mic'ed coaches over the years and haven't seen many who could call the other teams plays in advance (having the other teams signals, like Belichick, doesn't count).
