Espn is reporting first year te coach Jimmy Johnsons (the other one)son posted tweets insulting Cromartie for having a lot of kids and geno smith. The tweets were posted with pics from inside the locker room post game.

If confirmed, Bowles better act fast like with IK, and fire this coach. This behavior is disgusting and unprofessional. Bowles can't allow a coach to undermine the teams image again.

I don't think the coach is gonna get canned. I have a feeling Bowles will allow the dad to deal with sonny boy. That kid is about to get a serious ass-whoopin though, so there's that!

Because of his clear lack of control. The kid is clearly an entitled dick, the messages have nothing to do with football, just straight up attacks. Johnson let his kid into the locker room, and was obviously wrong to do so based on this kids attitude and lack of maturity.

It's unacceptable to let out locker room private photos blasting players on twitter.

You can't coach if you can't even keep your son in line. Another black eye on the organization, exactly what mac and Bowles are fighting.

coach johnson is 48 years old. i don't have the info, but i would imagine his son is a teenager who made some dumb twitter comments (for which he has already apologized).

firing a father because his kid made a stupid tweet would be much worse than allowing the father to take care of the situation. imagine what the rest of the coaches would think if their boss fired a co-worker because the coach's kid did something dumb.

i guess you never did something stupid as a kid. imagine if your dad was fired for your actions (or you were fired for your kids' actions, if you have kids)

Twitter trash talk targets Jets' Antonio Cromartie, Geno Smith
2h - NFL ANTONIO CROMARTIE +2 more
EmailComment
Rich Cimini, ESPN Staff Writer
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- After getting roughed up by the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, the New York Jets were involved in some social-media trash talk that seems to have come from inside their own locker room.

Insulting tweets, directed at cornerback Antonio Cromartie and quarterback Geno Smith, came from an account that might belong the son of Jets tight ends coach Jimmie Johnson, who was granted access to the locker room and postgame hospitality suite. The account has since been deleted.

Cromartie caught wind of it and fired back at @JimmieJ82, which eventually apologized.

The account posted a picture of Cromartie with the tweet, "Antonio Cromartie with 2 of his 15 kids."

Another tweet from the same account said, "Yo f--- you Cro you weak a-- b---- You gonna be playing till you 60 to pay all that child support."

A few hours later, Cromartie fired back.

The account also took aim at Smith, the Jets' backup quarterback. He posted a picture of Smith posing with a child in the hospitality suite, captioning it, "Bum a-- Geno Smith."

EDITOR'S PICKS
Cimini: Time for Geno? No, but Fitzpatrick's clunker an eye-opener
Ryan Fitzpatrick's three interceptions sent the Jets to their first loss. But this is no time to launch a "Geno Smith for quarterback" campaign. Not yet, anyway.
@JimmieJ82 later apologized directly to Cromartie on Twitter, also tweeting: "Those tweets were really stupid on my part. Will apologize to both of them if I get the chance."

The Jets declined to confirm or deny that the tweets came from Johnson's son. Coach Todd Bowles will have his daily news conference at 3:30 p.m.

Johnson, who played 10 years in the league as a tight end, is in his first season as an assistant with the Jets. He previously worked on the Minnesota Vikings' staff.

...Eventually, the account’s handle was changed to @JTre88, and he apologized to Cromartie.

“@CRO31 apologize for the tweet man, I really didn’t mean anything by it. Stupid tweet. I hope I get to apologize to you in person,” he tweeted.

“Those tweets were really stupid on my part. Will apologize to both of them if I get the chance,” he added in another tweet.

yeah, let's fire his father!!!!!! i'm sure the other coaches will just love that...

I understand where you're coming from, but this isn't something his kid did. Johnson invited his son into the locker room, at that point you are responsible for his actions.

not sure what difference that makes. you don't think a kid could make the same tweet without entering the lockerroom?

let the father deal with his kid. that should be the end of the story. i'm sure bowles will saying exactly the same thing today if asked about it.

you don't fire a coach because his (assumedly) teenage kid made a stupid tweet. that seems like a great way to lose the rest of your coaching staff and ensure no one would ever want to work for you. imagine being a coach or a candidate for a position with the jets. now you are responsible if your kid makes a stupid tweet or facebook comment???

Who gives a s--t what somebody's son think!
And incidentally, I don't give a s--t what Aaron Roger's brother thinks about Russell Wilson either.
For all we know these people could be transensual heroin addicts from Mars.

There are too many writers and not enough sane things to write about.

It's fine to disagree, but you don't need to insult posters, it doesn't validate your position.

I think jets players receiving insulting tweets from inside their own locker room is a problem, and is exactly what happens in a dysfunctional organization. Bowles coming from the Parcells school, can't let this go. We will see what happens.

My view of right response

1. Kid is banned from locker room and any access other than as a paying customer. He can buy a ticket to a game, but he cannot come on the field or into the locker room or into the practice facility. He is banned. If dad is unhappy about son's ban, dad can find a new job.

2. Dad gets a severe warning but isnt fired. He is responsible for his kid - especially when he brings the kid into the locker room. The locker room wont happen again, but Dad should be told that kid cant be a further source of jets news. Period.
