It was a very well played game from the second half on.

our three stars on offense:

Fitzpatrick - acquired for a 7th
Marshall - acquired for a 5th
Ivory - acquired for a 4th

Those three trades have been great!!!!

Important statistic. Only one penalty almost made up for the three turnovers. I didn't think the Fitz INT was that bad of a throw. I can say that for about 3-4 of his 7 picks. Fitz is playing well. Marshall and Decker each fumbling kept the Skins in this game. But once again, Ivory is a BEAST. He's the MVP of this team right now. Most underrated RB in the NFL. The Saints GM who made that trade for a 4th rounder should probably go jump off a bridge for making that move.

4-1. I'm glad my gut instinct was wrong. I feared a letdown based on history.

Bring on the Cheats!!

i don't think the interception on his target to Marshall was really that bad. he put it up and trusted his #1 receiver to make the play. most of the time Marshall has come up with it but you figure you're bound to lose some of those. it happens. i thought for the most part Fitz had a good game. i loved the fire in his eyes on his rushing TD.

Ivory is the key to the whole offense. he extends drives and keeps the defenses honest. if he goes down with a significant injury, we're in big trouble.

Also, i thought the linebackers were great today. Harris and Davis came up big when it was obviously in Washington's game plan to target them.

Got a chance to watch the last 7 minutes of the half and the second half. What a difference a halftime pep talk can make huh. I'm sure Bowles was pissed and really ripped into the team. Whatever he said worked because they were lights out in the second half. I was hoping they would have scored another TD after the botched punt and Redskins TD recovery. Now its onto NE where it only gets tougher. Bowles will have them ready but Belibitch will have the Pats ready. This will be a interesting one nonetheless.

we absolutely had to get this win today & we did!!

great job coach bowles on a must win game!!

go jets!!

Couldn't agree more.

They came out looking rusty, and cranky.

Jets best play makers turned the ball over 3 times in the first half. Looked like a team that could fall apart.

No big changes in the second half. They just stopped putting the ball on the ground.

The Jets rolled em up in the second half.

I'm really impressed how this team played today.

Horrible QB and all :)

[h=3]Offense[/h]The Jets rolled up 474 yards of total offense and got huge performances from Chris Ivory, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker again. This grade gets dragged down by the three first-half turnovers. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (19 of 26, 253 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, 31 yards rushing, one touchdown) had a really strong game other than the interception. Marshall (seven catches, 111 yards, one TD) was a monster, making several great catches. Ivory (20 rushes, 146 yards, one TD) continues to roll.
Grade: B+
[h=3]Defense[/h]The Redskins scored 13 points after Jets turnovers and their final touchdown on a blocked punt. If not for those mistakes, the Jets might have pitched a shutout.
Darrelle Revis turned the game around with his third-quarter pick. The front line of Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson, Damon Harrison and Leonard Williams along with linebackers David Harris and Demario Davis held the Redskins to 34 yards rushing.
Grade: A
[h=3]Special teams[/h]This unit was a mess. The blocked punt was the biggest mistake. Fortunately for the Jets, it came late in the game when the score was already out of reach. Nick Folk went 2-for-3 on field goals. Jeremy Kerley had one 22-yard return but fair catches on his other returns.
Grade: D
[h=3]Coaching[/h]Give Todd Bowles a ton of credit for reaching his team at halftime and waking his players up. He gets marked down for the team’s first-half performance, but his halftime speech must have been a doozy. Bowles and defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers did a nice job designing a 4-3 attack against Washington’s strong run game. Offensive coordinator Chan Gailey called a nice game with some tendency-breaking screen passes.
Grade: A-

Good post Elias. Stacey and McDougle both made an impact after half. Powell seemed to stall the offense when he spelled Ivory and McDougle provided solid coverage underneath. Two good adjustments by the coaching staff.

Jets' offensive snap counts from yesterday (based on 67): RB -- Chris Ivory 34, Zac Stacy 25, Tommy Bohanon 18, Bilal Powell 8; WR -- Brandon Marshall 57, Eric Decker 56, Quincy Enunwa 49, Devin Smith 16, Jeremy Kerley 8. TE -- Kellen Davis 40, Jeff Cumberland 21. Takeaway: Larger roles for Enunwa and Davis, smaller for Smith and Cumberland.

Sheldon had 7 QB hurries yesterday. The most from anyone on the team.

You clearly are not familiar with the talent in GB's secondary.
Check them out. You'll come away impressed.
THE SHIELD, similar in style to MEvis.
Both rookies, Randall & Rollins, are ball hawking close cover guys who can stick with anyone.
Hyde has become an impressive SAF subbing for Burnett & while Ha Ha hasn't been quite the FS HYATT™ wanted, has still been sharp as tacks for the most part (still has some tackling issues to clean up).
Casey Hayward is finally back playing near 100% after an injury off-year, similar to what Cro went through.
Gunter may be the cherry of the crop of UDFAs though. MAN can that kid hurt people.
Big, strong, fast, young, (cheap LOL), and talented beyond belief across the board.

The only real difference is that the Jets secondary has name recognition, being older guys than GB's - AND, all 6 are all playing for a cap number smaller than MEvis' salary alone.
THE SHIELD is the only one making any bank at all.

I'm clearly familiar enough to have checked Green Bays secondary after having this conversation with you. Hyatt, I have to hand it to you. Those Green Bay Packers are just EXCELLENT in their secondary.

They gave up almost 500 yards passing to Philip Rivers.

Suffice it to say, I MUCH prefer the Jets secondary. If you want the Packers secondary? You can have them, but don't let them anywhere near the Jets..

The Jets only had 10 players on the field in the fourth quarter when the Redskins blocked a punt for a touchdown.

“It can’t happen,” Bowles said.

Bowles did not identify which player should have been on the field. Judging from a prior punt, it appeared Zac Stacy was the culprit. But Bowles shouldered the blame for the screwup.

“We busted,” Bowles said. “They didn’t count them. We, as coaches, didn’t count them. We messed it up. I messed it up. It’s my responsibility.”

Just took a look at the NE Pats Scout site... According to them we are still just a joke because we've only won against losing record teams...

Looking forward to Sunday is all I'll say about that! :happy-feet-penguin-

It's kinda early but they beat one team that has a winning record.

Did anyone else notice that they replaced a healthy Willie Colon with Brian Winters at the half?

I went back and re-watched, and Colon was doing OK. Winters did very well also. Perhaps because they ran Ivory outside more in the 2nd half, and pulled infront Winters several times.

That might be something to see what develops there.

I thought willy only sat out the 4th quarter after the game was pretty much over. Maybe just trying to not overuse him on his first game back from injury?

I fast forwarded through the game, and noticed Winters in in the middle of the 3rd. game was still alive.

The reason I did that was because there was a one line question to Colon if he was hurt.

Colon said no, as you said , Colon replied they were giving him a veteran's rest. I can't remember a healthy vet being pulled for a rest. it's possible he was tiring from not having played. it's still interesting that they had the confidence in Winters to put him into that spot, and no one noticed.

That's a good thing I think. I'm going to keep an eye on it.

Speaking of Winters, I think he has played a few nice games now. Granted, last weekend was not as a starter, he saw much less playing time, but he did play quite well when his number was called.

Brian Winters must play the way he did against Suh in the Miami game if the Jets want to win this weekend. I hope he's up to it.
