I feel like we outplayed the Patriots and but for some missed opportunities, particularly though not exclusively that Brandon Marshall drop in the end-zone, this was a game we could and should have won.
So I feel like we beat ourselves today and thats what makes this one especially tough to swallow. I can live with getting outplayed and beat by a better team, or just a better team on that day, but its hard to take when I sincerely believe we were the better team and we beat ourselves, especially verses the Patriots, a team thats been consistently sticking it to the Jets for the better part of the past decade.
Its not often that we outplay these guys and have a real chance to beat them, especially on the road, and it hurts knowing we had this team reeling in the 4th Qtr, on the ropes and ready to go, all we had to do was drop the hammer, deliver the knockout blow, and it was right there, RIGHT THERE in Brandon Marshall's hands, and we dropped the ball. Then the debacle on 3rd & 17 and you could have turned your television sets off there. Everything we had accomplished up until that point, 3+ Quarters of outplaying this team, all squandered in an eye-blink.
But hey, hasn't that really been the story for this franchise since SBIII, close but no cigar?
