I feel like we outplayed the Patriots and but for some missed opportunities, particularly though not exclusively that Brandon Marshall drop in the end-zone, this was a game we could and should have won.

So I feel like we beat ourselves today and thats what makes this one especially tough to swallow. I can live with getting outplayed and beat by a better team, or just a better team on that day, but its hard to take when I sincerely believe we were the better team and we beat ourselves, especially verses the Patriots, a team thats been consistently sticking it to the Jets for the better part of the past decade.

Its not often that we outplay these guys and have a real chance to beat them, especially on the road, and it hurts knowing we had this team reeling in the 4th Qtr, on the ropes and ready to go, all we had to do was drop the hammer, deliver the knockout blow, and it was right there, RIGHT THERE in Brandon Marshall's hands, and we dropped the ball. Then the debacle on 3rd & 17 and you could have turned your television sets off there. Everything we had accomplished up until that point, 3+ Quarters of outplaying this team, all squandered in an eye-blink.

But hey, hasn't that really been the story for this franchise since SBIII, close but no cigar?

Marshalls dropped pass in the end zone and the D allowing the 3rd and 17 is all on us... not to mention no one covering the best receiver NE has for their last TD...

we made 3 mistakes and we paid for it...

I voted the better team won. We are getting there but not there yet. If both teams played mistake free (how many drops did they have) I beleive that we still would have fallen short.
I can happily say that we definitely have closed the gap considerably.

"we beat ourselves & the better team lost" always seemed weak to me..

i can't remember a playoff series patrick ewing didn't say as much & it always annoyed me..

a wins a win..

if we are the "better team" we'll be them at least one more time this season..

Feel we played well but didn't outplay them. We were definitely out-coached and as long as Brady starts for them it will be a rarity when we get the best of them. It like the movie ground hog day only Brady is playing Bill Murray.

I voted that the Patsies won. They were the better team today unfortunately.

But I'll tell you this and I never really realized it until I started reading some of the posts on this website, the Jets are the more talented team. I was so caught up in thinking this is a rebuilding team, but the FA moves we made, made us the better team on paper. It didn't translate to the field.

That's a product of 4 different things I can see;

1)Turnovers - I knew we needed a turnover free game and we didn't get it.

2)3rd and 17 conversion - that really hurt late in the game.

3)Chris Ivory - Really needed him today but he tweaked a hammy.

4) Brandon Marshall - the drop in the end zone was HUGE.

After that I tend to agree with what Willie Colon had to say.... We lost from X's and O's.

Todd Bowles is a rookie HC and he got outcoached by the best of Head Coach's. That's the way I see it.

It was a valiant effort and they showed me a lot today. I can't help but thinking that we have a great chance to beat them in NY?

I also can't help but think that this team has a great opportunity right now to go on a winning streak. Oakland and Jacksonville are not easy outs but if the Jets are focused they can beat them with relative ease. I'm thinking the Jets could win their next 5 straight if they stay focused.

We are still rebuilding. This team got beat today by the defending cheating asshole champions. That's not a totally bad thing to acknowledge. It's just an admission that they still have work to do.
