CAREER STATS
SEASON CMP ATT YDS CMP%. YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT RAW QBR. ADJ QBR
2014 255 392 3250 65.1 8.29 68 21 17 15 143.7 63.5 73.9
2013 257 384 4057 66.9. 10.57 94 40 10 27 184.8 87.0 89.4

Granted INTs up but his WRs & RBs are not what he had last year and he is carrying this team...Dude is a Stud...name a QB from Oregon that has had any success in the NFL...like the B1G TEN RB

INTs are way up, and he does have at least 1 WR from last season. I'm not saying Winston can't be good, but the numbers this season are really not good, and he really hasn't played a ton of great defenses, either.

As for the comment about "Oregon QBs that have had any success in the NFL"... I don't get that, the only Florida State QB to have any success in the NFL was Brad Johnson. Since then the Florida State QBs that have been drafted are:
EJ Manuel
Christian Ponder
Adrian McPherson
Chris Weinke
Danny Kenell

If you we can go before Brad Johnson to include:
Casey Weldon
Peter Tom Willis
Gary Huff
Bill Cappleman
Kim Hammond
and Steve Tensi

Also, Florida State's defense has been a big reason why they are still undefeated. In the last 6 games, they've allowed, 3, 7, 3, 7, 7, and 10 points in the 2nd half. Again, Winston has been playing better in the 2nd half of games, but the defense allowing only 1 score in the 2nd half for 5 straight weeks is a big reason they are undefeated. There's an element of "Tebowism" to Winston's success this year, where the defense should be getting a lot more credit for keeping FSU undefeated this season.

I want no part of either of these QB's they both scare me and I would rather get the talent with the pick we have rather than gamble on hitting with one of these QB. What was troubling with Winston against Florida was the fact that he was just making bad decisions and forcing it in there. Once again they got the win but not before having there backs against the wall. Unfortunately, this years draft is not going to have the same depth as last. Mariota seems like a safer bet but not enough to warrant 4 years of the franchise on.

I'm all for drafting a qb. I just don't think the top two guys are guys I am confident in. Winston with his issues off the field and after watching him a few days ago throw 4 picks. And Mariota just reminds me of a more quit Johnny Football. The guy who has all the tools in college is hackenberg and he wont be coming out until next year at the earliest and will probably stay for his senior year.

I may sound crazy but I would take a chance on Sam Bradford, still young and definitely has the ability. Even though he has trouble staying on the field. Draft a guy and sign Bradford after he is cut.

I would rather have a stop gap and maybe hope out ttfp doesn't ruin Hackenburg with the horrendous line. I know it might sounds crazy b

I get that but if you have a chance to get hackenberg, it must be taken.

Big game coming up for Jameis Winston on Dec 6th against Georgia Tech. Tech is off wins in consecutive weeks against ranked opponents. They also have 17 interceptions.

After Winston's 4 interception game, this figures to be a real test for Jameis, and will probably be a big determining factor in where he goes in the draft.

I am not an FSU fan at all. Hate them (Canes fan) but I will be rooting for them in this game, because I really want to see FSU Vs Oregon in the playoffs.

This will be a good test to see if Winston has the stuff to make a recovery from his very poor performance

USANYJ- completely agree. I would take him over the Winston/Mariota debate. It will be an interesting test for Winston. If he comes out again and has a mediocre first half it can't help is stock.

Just seems more logical to take a guy who is young and can play than one of these....that being said, the jets will be the jets I know and love and screw it up

FSU has been nothing to write home about...and they are 3 point favorites in this game. They really don't deserve their ranking

I agree Winston scares me especially as a top 3 pick. I would rateher take a chance on Mariota, would be extremely happy with Cooper. What scares me even more is Idzik will be making the pick. I don't think Idzik would take Winston he has always preached character.
well preaching character is easier than living by it.. if half of the negative press idzik's received recently is true?? yikes!!

Lets face it, the running QBs are failing miserably. We need a pocket passer, stand in there and deliver a strike. Winston is a risk, but the closest thing to that. It's gonna be a no brainer if he falls to us

Completely agree. flgreen is right. The Big Ben comparison is legit. Both are big have strong arms and can run if they need to.

FSU isn't close to the team they were last year, but they are still the undefeated National Champion

I'd still rather have Mariota. He is unflappable and heady. I think he will do better at the next level. That is a gut feeling. If Winston falls to us, what can I say? We need a QB but he is not my first choice. I liked his game vs Ga. Tech though. He did look steady and well prepared.

He did end up with good stats but his throwing was where most of us weren't impressed

I can respect that . I hope for the best. I was with some young Jet fans today, who were rooting for a win. They were confused by my celebration in the OT
