Florida Open Carry

Welcome to Florida Open Carry!

Open Carry is a grass roots movement made up of people who seek to protect and expand their individual right to keep and bear arms and are willing to exercise that right. Open Carry refers to the act of carrying a firearm in plain sight.

In Florida, you can legally open carry a loaded firearm while engaged in, or going to and from, Fishing, Hunting, and Camping. With some planning and preparation, a law abiding person can open carry a firearm in public and stay in compliance with the law.
Responsible, law abiding friends associated with Florida Open Carry hold meetings throughout Florida in an effort to raise awareness in the community. Our goal is to help educate others about their right to legally open carry and advocate for expanded open carry as allowed in the vast majority of other states.

If you would like to help expand your right to carry openly in Florida, come out for some of our great fishing and camping events to promote OC!

If I ran a team, I'd cut any player who got arrested for anything.

My philosophy is, if you can't outrun the police, you're too slow to be on my team.

Condoning the wrong doing as long as you don't get caught. Lol, that's pretty funny.

In Virginia you can open or concealed carry (with a permit) anywhere except for schools, federal property or private property where they have signs posted or verbally tell you its not allowed. Other then schools and federal property, if you carry your weapon on private property where it is not wanted and you refuse to leave, its only a trespassing issue. Unless their other factors going in with that individual. It is what it is I guess!

LOL

Actually the research didn't go the way I thought it would. I have a CWP, I've had it a long time. I thought Florida was one of the 46 states where you can carry a weapon openly.

Glad I didn't find out the hard way

I may have to move

New York Jets running back Chris Johnson was arrested on Friday night and charged with the open carrying of a firearm, according to NFL.com. The open carrying of a firearm in Orlando, Fla. is a second-degree misdemeanor charge.

Johnson was pulled over after not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign, and after he consented to a search of his car by police, police found a licensed and registered firearm under a bag under a seat. It's considered open carrying because it was not locked up, which is why he's been charged at this point.

There's not a whole lot of other info about the incident or charge at this point, and the team hasn't made much of a comment beyond stating that they are aware of said incident.

Johnson carried the ball 155 times for 663 yards and just one rushing touchdown with the Jets this year. It's his first year with the team after signing a two-year contract this past offseason, and it wound up being his least-productive year by far. He did average 4.3 yards per carry which was solid, but the Jets split carries so his totals were all down. Some think he could wind up being a cap casualty this offseason.
