The police certainly piled on the charges, I'd expect most to be dismissed and the 2 idiots looking for a handout.

Just in Woody Johnson to move the Jets back to NY. He will build a stadium on Rikers Island. He said this should make many of our players feel right at home. Richardson & Revis should feel right at home.playing here

The Jets are not by any stretch the exception to the rule in that regard. If anything, the Jets are pretty average when it comes to players with off-field issues.

It matters some that you have behaved during your lifetime (from what we know) but the law is still fairly clear. http://fairlielaw.net/duty-to-retreat-or-stand-your-ground-a-primer-to-self-defense-in-pennsylvania/
Just because some punks are filming you doesn't constitute a physical threat.

Do you honestly believe there isn't more to this story? Do people get knocked unconscious for simply videotaping someone? Were there people following Revis while taping him? We're people badgering him and his friends about his contract, his down year? We're people told to back off?

Have you and your friends ever been followed down the street in the early morning hours? It's called fight or flight. And it's an unsettling feeling. I almost got in a brawl twenty years ago after leaving a bar at 2:30. You don't have to look very far for trouble at 2:30 am. It'll find you, as they say.

You are assuming a lot. I don't know that it was fight or flight and neither do you? You can certainly beat someones's arse over badgering but, most likely, if you are a "star" that is really going to cost you in the end. The old " nothing good happens at 2:30 am unless your home" seems to fit this situation.
I really don't care what they were thinking I just hope we get out of that horrible contract. Revis was an absolute slug all year, came to camp out of shape, and was laughing in the JET's fan's face. It is my pleasure to laugh back.

Love Revis and always have but time to cut bait here. He has become more trouble then what it's worth. His production and play has dropped tremendously and now this. Even if this isn't his fault at all, they are paying him to much damn money for this kind of headache. If he was playing as he was 4-5 years ago then another story but it is what it is at this point. He will be a future HOFer and hopefully go in as a Jet.

I wasn't trying to assume anything, actually. I was doing just the opposite: not jumping to conclusions based on very limited information. I was pointing out that usually other factors contribute to knocking people out. Considering it's a guy with no problems in his past, I think he deserves some benefit of the doubt.

But im right on board the fact that the Jets just might catch a huge break and find an easy way out of this bloated contract. I don't want him back, either.

Jets corner Darrelle Revis has been released from Allegheny County courthouse on a non-monetary bond, according to multiple reports. Revis turned himself in to authorities on Friday, one day after the former All-Pro was charged with felony aggravated assault and robbery for his alleged involvement in an altercation that took place in Pittsburgh early Sunday morning, according to court records obtained by NFL.com. Revis' preliminary hearing is Thursday, Feb. 23.

Revis, 31, was charged Thursday in Allegheny County (Pennsylvania) with four felonies -- two counts of aggravated assault, one count of robbery and one count of conspiracy: aggravated assault. He also was charged with making terroristic threats -- a misdemeanor.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told NFL.com the league will look into the matter. Revis faces the possibility of discipline from the league under the NFL's personal conduct policy. The Jets confirmed to NFL.com they are aware of the incident.

The Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety released details about the alleged incident shortly before Revis was formally charged. According to the release, Pittsburgh police were dispatched to an intersection in the city at 2:43 a.m. EST Sunday to look into a report that two men had been knocked unconscious. The two men later told police they were punched by Revis and another man.

Blaine Jones, Revis' former counsel, said Revis sought medical attention after the incident and "at no time was Darrelle" the aggressor. Jones said Revis was "retreating" from the situation.

"According to the investigation, a 22-year-old male from Kittanning was walking along E. Carson Street when he spotted a male who resembled Aliquippa native (Darrelle) Revis, a cornerback in the NFL," the Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety's statement reads. "He asked if the man was (Darrelle) Revis and he confirmed that he was. The male began recording the interaction on his cellphone and continued following Revis. At some point, Revis snatched the cellphone away and attempted to delete the video.

"Another 21-year-old male from Ross Township attempted to help the 22-year-old retrieve the cellphone. Revis then tossed the phone onto the roadway. A verbal argument followed. A male came to assist Revis. Both the 22-year-old and the 21-year-old state they were punched then remember waking up to talk to police. Witnesses state the two were unconscious for about 10 minutes. The Officers viewed the cellphone video and confirmed that the person was Revis."

Revis is coming off a difficult season and his $15.3 million salary-cap number puts him at risk of being released by the Jets.

I hope they can void the $6M. Any money the Jets don't have to pay him is retribution for him holding the Jets hostage.

I want Revis gone. I don't want an experiment at safety. If they somehow manage to get that 6 million voided because of this incident, that would be huge.

When Al Davis was there, he would have welcomed Revis to Oakland with open arms.
