Jets have interest in free agent TE Anthony Fasano

The Jets have expressed interest in free agent TE Anthony Fasano, reports Paul Schwartz of the NY Post, who says the Giants are also interested in Fasano.

Fasano, 32, is used mostly as a run-blocker.

He had eight receptions for 83 yards to go along with two touchdowns in 16 games last season for the Titans, in what was the final year of his two-year deal.

Fasano made $1.975 million last season.

During his 11-year career, which has also included stints with the Cowboys, Dolphins, and Chiefs, Fasano has 287 receptions for 3,171 yards and 35 touchdowns.

These are areas that i'am fine with having an older/experienced TE that knows how to block. The young gun that is given the reigns must have time to develop instead of getting pummeled like Bryce was getting last year with a horrible O-Line.

Probably has the same agent as somebody we're trying to sign and we're helping create interest

Not sure how a blocking TE is overcoming the other deficiencies on the OL. Surely someone younger can block or fall down in front of pass rushers.
