I think you are wrong on every point... except winning
1. Money will always be a deciding factor, if it's enough
2. NY is always the biggest attraction - High profile players make and estimate of 25-50% of their salary in types of endorsement deals only afforded by NY
3. Winning only enhances everything else
4. We are no where near the Browns level.
With that said I rather build through the Draft and not be concerned with the FA market, yet!
They don't make as much in endorsements when the team sucks and the Jets suck. NY has a state income tax which plays a role. It would be nice to get one high profile player and then maybe others would follow, but the Jets probably didn't offer him enough to overcome all the shortcomings of the organization. I agree he would be a waste of money because he will be at end of contract by the time the Jets are in the hunt for 8-8.
