Coach Bowles League Meeting Press Conference

what i don't understand is, the same people that say fans are too hard on bowles rarely, if ever defend the guy with what they believe he does well as a head coach..

for instance, i can ramble off a laundry list of what i believe he's absolutely horrible at as a head coach..

where is the laundry list of what you guys believe he does well?? because without that, what the hell are we debating??

Their excuse for wanting to keep him is simple..... They claim that every HC is entitled to 3 years at the helm, just because that is what they believe is fair and they HOPE he'll get better as a HC?

Now that's the reasons. Continuity and hope. It's just like guys that are so optimistic about this rebuild Mac is putting the team on? They see McCown as starting QB and a whole bunch of unproven at best players on this team and they CLAIM, "This is what rebuilding looks like". I say BS.

This season has ALL the makings of Rich Kotite 2.0. The 2017 version of Rich Kotite. After all, so many have already compared Toilet to Kotite. I personally think Toilet is better, but not by a large margin. Either way it is very depressing.

Instead of Bubby Brister being the starting QB, it will be Josh McCown. A guy that never wins and remains in the league? Go figure.

But this season has Cleveland Browns written all over it, with a clueless HC and a HORRIBLE QB. 2017 will be shovel pass 2.0........

bowles is going to get an extension before the start of '18, (the final year of his contract) or he gets canned sometime in '17.. it really is that simple..

if bowles does get fired, theoretically our year 2, 2nd round (project) QB will be on his 3rd playbook in as many years..

i can't see anybody believing that would be putting the kid in position to succeed.. quite the opposite, actually..

Bowles could survive 1-15 this year and survive if the team looks like cle did last year. Talent lacking, but the guys were fighting and battling out there every week. Losing a TON of close games, and some they had no business losing (ravens week 2, the jets, the dolphins game). They showed some growth, the team was organized and guys performed even though they did not win games. I don't see it happening but its possible here. Cant go 1-15 and lose 12 of the 15 by 20 pts. However if the avg margin of defeat is like 6.5-9 pts and the effort is clearly there, bowles does deserve a third year yes. time will tell.

Who is they?

I never said McCown was the answer or a legit starting QB. You're putting words in people's mouths now just to prove a point.

You can take the negative perspective towards it all, assume everything's a shit show. I choose to remain optimistic that a plan is in place. Nobody's right or wrong about it.

What team were you watching? I saw a team that was uninspired and flat in most games. I saw the team make the same mental mistakes week in and week out all season... I saw poor coaching and bad discipline...

i meant (in my post above) that the BROWNS did not have talent but showed fight each week, lots a lot of close games, and showed the type of fight that even in a down year can save a coaches job. us on the other hand ...not so much
