From various sources, Mitchell Trubisky today had a private workout with the New York Jets... This could be simple due diligence or looking to draw interest from other teams that are in need of a quarterback and may want to make the move up...

The Trubisky workout is their third with a top quarterback in the draft... They already held private workouts with Clemson’s Deshaun Watson and Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer, according to a sources... Kizer confirmed he worked out for the Jets at his pro day... The Jets also plan on having the quarterbacks take pre-draft visits to their Florham Park headquarters to spend more time with them...

The Jets attended all three of the quarterbacks’ pro days with at least scouts, but wanted to probe deeper with workouts... Private workouts have gained popularity with teams, though, because pro days have become scripted events in which the quarterbacks control the types of throws they make... Call me crazy if you please...But I like what I see from Deshaun Watson? He just seems like such an intelligent kid? Seems to be very cerebral in his approach, but also happens to be tremendously gifted athletically. I think this kid could be the next Steve McNair. Trubisky I have serious reservations about? Seems like he didn't start long enough in college.

Watson is intriguing, I like a guy who performs in high pressure games. I don't care about athletic, can he pass? His height is a big problem.

I agree, but that wasn't necessarily the point. Regardless of whether the jets should draft him, Watson is an enigma of sorts. Will he be a bust because he's short, or can he keep his winning pedigree in the nfl?

I wouldnt be surprised at all if Mac trades up with San Fran to select this guy.

Personally i'd stay put and take Mike Williams or Fournette. But if Mac thinks Trubisky is just too good to pass up, then i guess we roll with it.

I agree cold heartedly.

Though, i feel how Mac firmly believes is to groom a QB slowly. He'd probably give Bryce every opportunity to win the starting job having Hackenberg behind him with McCown at number 3.
Trubisky would be 4rth.

I'd hate to have 4 QBs for a season, but he's done it before, i wouldnt be surprised if he'd do it again. Though if Petty shows absolutley no improvement in TC then as much of a fan i am of him, they'd have to cut tie with him and go in with Hack as the number one, McCown then Trubisky as the 3rd-Unless he absolutley "Russell Wilsons" it.

That is pretty high praise. I see him as being comparable to Mariota, with maybe a better read for an NFL system. He may not have quite the same ability to make big plays on the run, but he is plenty athletic, he makes throws with his legs, and his size might hold up better.

I'm not totally sold on him, but I do like him, and a ton more than Kizer.

Watson is a winner. He's won on the biggest stage and played his best against very good competition. He has all the tools to be an NFL Qb. He has the intangibles to be a great one. I would prefer him over Trubisky on that basis. I'm not convinced that the Jets are going to give up on Hackenberg. He has great physical tools and intangibles too. I still believe he has a chance to be a really good player.

I don't know why, but something tells me Macc's passing on the QB's this draft. He's gonna roll with what's on the roster and reset the QB position next year if we suck.

That would be shocking. I could see trading up to 5 or 6 and taking the QB, but not at #1.

It's a smoke screen.. They will take Garret #1 they are trying to see if they can get the Niners to jump up that one spot to get him and acquire an extra pick... IMO
