With a lot of horse trading going on behind the scenes, Mac pulls the trigger of the first of many trades. With Mike Williams still on the board the Panthers are desperate to move ahead of the Chargers to nab Cam's new favorite target.

Jets receive #8 and #64 to move down two slots.

The Browns come calling next. They're concerned the Saints are interested in Trubisky (or Watson) and eapfrog over them to get their guy.

Jets receive #12 and #52.

Here come the Bucs! Their guy is on the board and they need to fix their anemic 3.6 ypr and trade up to nab Christian McCaffrey.

Jets receive #19 and #50.

One more? Yes! It's the Falcons on the phone and they want their guy David Njoku! And they're willing to pay!

Jets receive #31, #63 and second round pick next year.

Jets pick;

#31 - Gareon Conley, CB
#39 - TJ Watt, OLB
#50 - Marcus Williams, S
#52 - Dion Dawkins, OT
#63 - Sidney Jones, CB
#64 - Gerald Everett, TE
#70 - Raekwon McMillan, ILB
#107 - Ethan Pocic, C/G

It's not fancy but it's about a lot of building blocks. Mac and Bowles are thrilled they have the luxury of getting Sidney Jones due to his recent injury and are happy to redshirt him. They wanted a big WR but there were too many other holes to fill. They're hoping to catch lightning in a bottle two years in a row and nab a receiver late in the draft.

What about picks 150,191 and 224.... Anyway, in your scenario I don't think TJ Watt is there at 39 we might need to take him at 31..Which means we lose out on Conley who also I think will be a late first rounder... Personally I don't see him falling past Green Bay. Also Marcus Williams is going at the top of the 2nd Rd ..... And Sidney Jones is a wild card he might be there at 63; I hope he is in this scenario... But hey if the draft fell this way for us... I'd be ecstatic... With that said in all those trade downs I think we can probably squeeze another 2 pics out of those trades somewhere as well.

Made some updates for ya:

#31 - Christian McCaffrey, RB (I think Conley goes top 18)
#39 - Chidobe Awuzie, CB Colorado (I think Awuzie may be available at this pick)
#50 - Curtis Samuel, WR OSU
#52 - Dion Dawkins, OT
#63 - Jake Butt, TE
#64 - Cam Sutton, CB, Tenn
#70 - Raekwon McMillan, ILB
#107 - Ethan Pocic, C/G

I think with adding McCaffrey and Samuel, and then stashing Butt for 2018 we have 3 really potent weapons on offense that can grow with a young qb from the 18 draft

Lou...you may be right about Watt, however if that were the case I think there would still be plenty of great cornerback options at #39. I also think that between Marcus Williams, Josh Jones and Justin Evans I think we get a starting safety in this year's draft at #50 or #52 or sooner. I expect Gilchrist and Calvin Pryor to not be on the team in 2018 and at least one replacement must be found this year.

As for the late picks, I just hope Mac continues to be successful at late round picks and UFA. He's done a decent job with Simon, Peake and Lac Edwards in the 7th and Jalin Marshall and Robby Anderson as UFA. Not only if he'd be as successful in round 2!!!

FB89...I like it. My only concern is finding a starting safety this year.

Jets trade #19 to Oilers for #26, #89 and a third round in 2018.

Jets trade Sheldon to the Chiefs for #104 and conditional pick in 2018.

Jets Picks
#26 - Tre-Davious White,CB
#33 - David Njoku, TE
#39 - Charles Harris, OLB
#50 - Josh Jones, S
#70 - Sidney Jones, CB
#89 - JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR
#104 - Antonio Garcia, OT
#107 - Ethan Pocic, G/C

Hey, it's fun to dream. Seriously though some early trades could net them an extra second and third. If so, he should draft 4 new starters in 2018 and 2-3 more in 2018. Hey, let's hope!

Seriously, that would be amazing. If he did this, and then got all those picks to stick, it would be incredible. He'd be up for GM of the century.

SE...

Let's remember, in 1979 the Giants hired George Young with significant prodding by the league. They were the biggest jokes of the NFL. Young had a modest first two drafts (Phil Simms and Mark Haynes) and starting hitting pay dirt in his third year at the helm. He had the luxury of picking second and selected LT which changed the team forever. Let's hope Mac hits it big in his third draft. Maybe I'm smoking something but I just don't think his first two drafts were terrible. I think Leo is an all-pro, the linebackers are good (they just need to find the perfect spot for Lee), Shell will be our starter at RT, he nailed some good young WR talent (albeit there aren't any #1's) and Justin Burris is going to be very good. If he gets a #1 CB, decent safety, another LB and a TE he sets us up for real progress in 2018.

My hope is they can trade down pick up some late 1st round and 2nd and trade SR for a 3rd (which I feel is a steal) or more likely a fourth.

I agree, I think Mac has drafted well other than hack. And honestly, that's a gamble on just 1 pick in 2 years, in which would be a game changer if hack becomes a starter. Remember cousins rode the bench for 3 years before being franchised.

The ideal scenario is to trade with the Browns to get #33. With the first pick of the second day, they can field a lot of offers from different teams who have re-done their boards and go after the guy they want. The same can be said for pick #108 to start day 3/round 4. In order to get #12, #33 and #108 they may have to throw in Sheldon. Fine with me!

A #1 corner can be found anywhere in the 1st round and a good safety can be found in the 2nd. Starting LB and TE are there in the third round. As long as they scout and draft well!

I think you need to take the opportunity to take a game changer at 6, the chance doesn't come around often. So for me to give that great player up, I need to be able to pick 2 can't miss guys. If that requirement is met, ok.

I'd love to trade back to 12 and get jabrill peppers somehow in the first round, other than at 12.

Home town guy, unique team player who can do it all, and truly loves football. He has the ingredients to be a hall of fame player. I see him as a mix of Deion Sanders and troy polamalu.

I don't want to draft him before pick 15, but he's a guy I want on my team. I wouldnt pick him six, but I'd trade back into the first for him. If we could go cb or fournette at 6, trade up for peppers, then go cb in the third we would be set on defense, and possibly have a punishing runner. Then draft Sam darnold and wr next year.

is your reluctance to take him at 6 based on the shaky ground maccagnan might be on?? because hell, when is it too early to pick a kid that loves football who also has all world talent??

for instance, could reed have been picked too early??

There's no guarantee just because I see something in him. Fournette has higher odds of measurable long term success, and I'm not sure that peppers alone will change our secondary, but I think coupled with a prototypical cb, they could create problems. I wouldn't take him 6, but I wouldn't be upset if we did.
