I could never root for that guy. One of these days, all of his too violent hits will come back to haunt him as someone gets even. He will be carried off the field, twitching.
And the fans of real football will cheer.

I don't wish him harm, but I do wish a Geno type injury on that douche. Wouldn't root for him as a Jet. Actually wouldn't root for the Jets.

No sense whatsoever. He won't help long term for the rebuild.
lockstep agreement.. what i found curious was why the two "SNY" guys were so hyped about the idea of trading for sherman.. it was like they only had pedestrian knowledge of the jets..

LOLz i certainly didn't feel like this was westhoff, lucas & the gang giving there thoughts..

I disagree with the general sentiment of the posts. I actually think this would be a great move? I have no interest in watching my team be a punching bag this season. Jets fans have to have something to look forward to. Right now they are staring down the barrel of a 3-13? 2-14 season? Sorry, but watching that shit does not interest me in the least bit.

There is no strict, say rigid way to rebuild a football team? People think there is, but they are wrong.

Sherman allows the Jets a numbers advantage like Revis used to be. It allows Bowles to do what he wants to do the most - that is blitz. If there's any truth to the claims that the linebackers are great (loud mouths said that, I certainly didn't), acquiring Sherman essentially could catapult this defense into being a finished product. It would give Bowles his best chance to succeed. It would also allow Mac to focus on offense and ST's during the draft.

You know IMO Mac and Toilet are challenged by their jobs. A move like this would make their jobs that much easier and they can use all the help they can get...

What would the Seahawks demand in a trade with the Jets? Sheldon Richardson would be just the beginning of that negotiation, assuming they'd even want Richardson. They'd ask for vital draft picks that the Jets would be stupid to give up for a 29 year old polarizing CB who'd spend the next two prime years of his career on a rebuilding team with a giant question mark at QB.

Even if Seattle is serious about trading Sherman, I think they've got too much respect for what he's done there to trade him to a cellar dweller next year.

Here's the question I ask myself about this: If I was GM, and the Jets had Sherman, would I look to deal him for picks?

My answer is an emphatic yes. Guys like Mo and Leonard can be a part of the long-term future. Sherman will only make you marginally better, a wasted talent on a bad team until his skills deteriorate by the time the rest of the team is as good as him.

how about this??

maccagnan really does trade for sherman, (i won't even make a guess what it would take, because the whole thing makes my head hurt) without "unofficially" finding out if he wants to come here.. can you imagine if sherman pulled a revis2.0 & decided to half ass it??

So they give up a premium to get him, and he just collects a paycheck the way Revis did. That would be BRUTAL!

If the team is going to suck (and I am pretty sure they will), I want it to be with young, hungry players working to get better.

Contrary to MJ's opinion on Sherman, I like Sacks take on this. If we are going to suck and we are ...unless some miraculous thing happens like TB becomes a competent HC and Petty becomes an all star, I say pass and just take your lumps with young players who want to get better.

I live down in DC these days - I'm hoping the Skins deal their first for Sherman and then send the Jets their 3rd for Richardson. They should be in win now mode and need to goose their defense.

I'm not a big fan of Sherman either. I just hate how much of a loud mouth he is

Sherman got into several sideline screaming matches with Bevell over the offensive play calling last season. A CB sticking his nose in the offense. He also has been very vocal about his disapproval with some of Carroll's decisions. Word is, he is the one who asked about exploring a potential trade not the GM.

I want no part of this. This is exactly what the Jets don't need right now. He needs a very specific situation in a very accommodating locker room if he's traded. I could see a contender like Green Bay make a move for him.
