... and take a guy at #6 that NOBODY is projecting to the Jets at #6, I think that guy is QB Pat Mahomes.

I'm not saying it will happen. I wouldn't bet Monopoly Money on it happening, BUT, if the Jets decide to shock the world and take a player no-one is projecting to them that high, I think that player would be Pat Mahomes. I could see a team that needs a QB falling in love with Mahomes and pulling the trigger a lot higher than people expect. Big arm, mobile and threw for a million yards and TD's. There are people who compare him to Brett Favre.

It's Mac's thing to take QB's, so if he does I won't be surprised. But I still feel taking Mahomes at 6 is a bit of a stretch?

If he takes him that high, Mahomes is our 2017 starter? He'd have to be? But once taking Mahomes is not a bad choice, but I do think he should execute a trade down and take him later on if at all possible........

What if they trade down by swapping the #6 pick for a lower pick AND a player? Then pick a surprise like Mahomes.

It's hard to imagine they couldn't just follow their board for BPA throughout the draft? I don't think I've ever seen the Jets have as many holes as they have right now and this draft could very well be the best in history? That's a very conducive environment to making things easier to go with BPA. Mac's big challenge is to find a trade partner and move down. There's no way this team will ever become a SB contender if Mac simply sticks to his 7 picks every year. There's simply too much that they need right now. With that being the case, what draft could you possibly want to trade down in more?

I would have zero problems if that happened. We do have a lot of holes to fill, but many of those will be masked if we finally find THE ONE. Gotta keep trying.

I still think he is a system QB and everyone has fallen in love with his fastball which is really wild. I have said it before if they draft a QB at #6 he has to start game 1 with no exceptions. Too many red shirt QB's. Not many Texas Tech QB's ever turn into anything in the NFL.

I hope this won't be the case, not at #6 anyway. Second or third round (even better) but like you said, you can see a team falling in love with him. So he probably won't make past mid-second round with all these teams, including us needing QBs so bad. I can see a team like the Chargers, Saints or Cardinals taking him in the second or late first.

He can sit a year or two and learn from a great QB, excellent one at the least. Jets jumping on him at #6 might make him another Sanchez failure. Drafting him way to early, then forced to play him way to early. Might be even worse for this kid because this current team is or will be horrible. Sanchez team was actually a very good one. For two years it was anyway.

I don't want them taking a QB at #6. As bad as I want a franchise QB, I'm not quite sure any of these QBs are #6 worthy. Drafting at #6 IMO, means your ready to be a day one starter and contribute on a shitty, good, excellent or great team. Not quite sure any of these QBs are worthy of that. I don't want them to draft a defensive player also, especially a 300 pound dline men. Unless he is HOFer and game changer, from day one and I still wouldn't want a 300 pounder. Don't we have enough of those already? So that leaves a skilled player and there doesn't seem to be a powerhouse oline men out there to get at #6.

So if Mac can consummate the trade with the Browns, he'll have the 12th overall, right in the wheelhouse for the approximate area Jeremiah think he'll go? However, the Jets still have extra picks by trading down. This could be very big for this team. Lets hope it happens.......

Mahomes at 6th wouldnt surprise me from Mikey Mac who took a 6th-7th round pick in 2nd round. First big chance as GM in NFL after 2 awful Drafts of no starters, but hey sharpen up the Darts Mikey & pin the Players names on your Dart Board because thats exactly how it looks like you have been Drafting.
