TE Gary Barnidge Released

A lot of good young TE's available in this draft... But I say sign The Barnyard DOG to mentor the young guy... Instantly the TE position is golden with this guy, anyone of the rookies (there are so many good ones still on the board) and ASJ if he ever gets his head on straight.. Plus he has chemistry with McCown if we are stuck watching him be the starter

I agree. I think he would be a good pickup. Best tight end we'd have in a while. Why did the browns cut him?

Because his production was down a bit last year, and they drafted his replacement last night.

I hope that bringing him in would not influence playing time. I really don't want the old dog to start.

Bottom line is that we need the production out of the TE position as a safety net for the young QB. If that is Barnidge for a season with Leggett learning the ropes, then I'm fine with him being brought in.
