We'll know quickly if this rebuild worked.........

With this team having approximately 70 to 80 million to spend next offseason? Mac will likely have the ability to draft strictly BAP again next draft just like he did this draft. This will leave the Jets with a good mix of youth combined with veteran leadership and top notch play (from the free agents Mac will surely sign).

I figure the by midseason in 2018 we'll know if this rebuild is working? Mac is definitely going to take a QB in the 2018 draft. Regardless of who comes out and who doesn't, Mac would be crazy not to take a QB? We'll be able to see if the basics of this team and whether or not they'll be able to compete for it all?

This is not your normal rebuild in that way. The normal rebuild is a process that takes 4 to 5 years to happen? I figure 2018 will be the time when a decision is made regarding Mac and whether Woody figures he's a good enough GM to lead this team into the future?

I could easily see Mac fates going either way right now? He's done some very good things for this team and he's had some stinker drafts/moves. Your thoughts?

His inability(or is it unwillingness?) to build a top notch offensive line hamstrings any way we can evaluate offensive players (keep or not) going forward.

I find it hard to blame Mac for not selecting OL in the last draft? It was very weak on talent. But neglecting the OL in 2016 is what really pisses me off. Mac passed on Tunsil for two shit players in Lee and Hack. I'm convinced he completely squandered two 1st day picks. If I had been Woody, I would've fucking fired his stupid ass for that?

But you really can't complain about it now. What's done is done.

I do know if he pulls another 2016, he'll WILL get fired for it.

But you're right. With no OL, it'll be damn near impossible to see any sort of continuity/chemistry from the offense. Hell likely be spending big bucks in FA on OL next March.

How fucking low can this team bring down its fans.
its not even preseason yet for the 2017 season and fans are looking not only at next years draft, but how much longer after that will it take for the Jets be a competitive NFL franchise. If ever?
what a sorry state of affairs , and I'm been riding this fucking train for almost 50 years.
This is the worst I've seen this team . And don't tell me the Kotite years because Parcells turned that team around in one year. No one is doing that here.
The 70s were bad , but I always had hope for the upcoming season.
maybe it was just ignorance of my youth

Well, I'll admit no fan base wants to live what we are living right now, but like I said, we'll know if this tank worked a lot faster than most teams do? Your normal rebuild from the ground up is a about a 3 to 5 years plan depending on how much talent you are retaining from prior years. With approximately 70 million in cap space and a probable top 5 pick in 2018, the Jets are setting themselves up to make a run at the playoffs in 2018? I believe Mac thinks after two drafts (2017 and 2018) that this team will be ready to start being more competitive? There's no doubt they will be VERY active in FA next March. Mac thinks that drafting one of the blue chip QB prospects will almost instantly change the Jets fortunes next season?

I'll leave it up to you to decide if you think Mac is the guy that deserves to be running this tank? But I've yet to see ONE GM that gets to run a roster into the ground like the Jets have for two seasons, and then gets to completely change his mindset and do some thing different? That right there is called exceptional job security? Virtually every guy that fails ONCE gets fired and Mac has already failed once.............
