We all saw it, the offensive line they trotted out there was inexcusable to say it nicely... There are some bright spots along the line like Jonathan Harrison literally has out played Wesley Johnson for the starting center position... The mystery we don't have two starting tackles even tho Beachum is expected to start at left tackle, it seems by the coaching staff that isn't a lock... Shell and Powell literally allowed a gimme on delivering punishment to the second year rookie qb in Christian Hackenberg...

Last year, Bryce Petty spent time as the scout team QB... What I am getting at is that is where Hackenberg belongs this year to learn the nuances of the game from a different aspect while tailoring his own deficiencies at playing the position... He isn't a bad qb but he needs to work on many things to improve his overall game... That said I believe the team could get away or sell to the fans with sticking with two quarterbacks and no Josh McCown isn't one of them... They should try to trot out Petty this week as the starter for game three and see what he can do... We don't have listed starters across the board and there should be no fear on backlash from the media or fans that the rest of the league in preseason game three is preparing for the regular season and have guaranteed the majority of their rosters locks and bubble situational players...

So getting on with the post game two projection, some are still rising and some are complacent that they don't need to show up for preseason to make the final cut...

A lot of edits from the last projection, so here it is:

QB: (2) Bryce Petty, Christian Hackenberg
RB: (4) Bilal Powell, Elijah McGuire, Marcus Murphy, Matt Forte ( If Forte isn't ready for the start of the season place him on IR w/designation and keep Romar Morris on active)
FB: (1) Anthony Firsker
TE: (3) Jordan Leggett, Jason Vander Laan, Eric Tomlinson ( Tomlinson in for Austin Seferian Jenkins suspended )
WR: (6) Robby Anderson, Chris Harper, Ardarius Stewart, Chad Hansen, Myles White, Charone Peake ( Peake in for Jalin Marshall suspended )

OT: (3) Kelvin Beachum, Brandon Shell, Ben Ijalana
OG: (3) Brian Winters, James Carpenter, Dakota Dozier
OC: (2) Jonathan Harrison, Wesley Johnson

DE: (4) Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson, Leonard Williams, Lawrence Thomas
DT: (2) Steve Mclendon, Deon Simon

OLB: (5) Jordan Jenkins, Dylan Donahue, Josh Martin, Corey Lemonier, Lorenzo Mauldin
MLB: (4) Demario Davis, Darron Lee, Julian Stanford, Bruce Carter

CB: (6) Dexter McDougle, Juston Burris, Derrick Jones, Morris Claiborne, Buster Skrine, Darryl Roberts
FS: (2) Jamal Adams, Shamarko Thomas
SS: (3) Marcus Maye, Ronald Martin, Rontez Miles

LS: Tanner Purdum
K: Ross Martin
P: Lachlan Edwards

There will be dispute I know this but injuries still could happen opening doors for other players to earn a job (knock on wood)... But as of now these players aren't the cream of the crop but they are on the inside looking to compete... Of course things may change after preseason game three but this has more of a team rebuilding with some veterans leading the way... As for the McCown situation he made some money but the opportunity here isn't ideal, unless he wants to get his arse handed to him week in week out... Petty has more continuity and chemistry the majority of these players and showed it in the second half of the Lions game at least lets see what he can do with the so called starters out there... If he can put up points with them then he is the guy to lead this rebuild for at least this year...

I am thinking they will keep all three... because of hacks regression last night...

I am thinking they will keep all three... because of hacks regression last night...

Hack didn't have a shot the way the offensive line blocked last night coupled in the play calling was horrible... Regression is if he went out there and threw six interceptions... On top of the lack of blocking the receivers need to catch the damn ball...

Yes I do believe Hackenberg needs more time to develop but he has the tools to be successful if the team is willing to surround him with the right personnel... For Hackenberg he needs to work with the scout team improving his recognition skills as the number two QB...

Will they keep three more than likely but as of now this could work with Petty as the starter and Hackenberg as the backup...
