2018 draft QB and team race!!!

Might as well get this going now, it appears there will be three teams in the race for the #1 draft position to draft whomever is the best QB coming out. The dumpster fire Jets of course, which we no doubt have the worst QB and oline situation in the league. The 49ers and Jaguars will also be in the running. The Vikings may be looking to do something if Bridgewater doesn't return healthy. Bills, Broncos and Rams maybe looking as well, as their QB situation is shaky. Other contending or decent teams with older QBs will be looking like the Saints, Giants, Steelers, Cardinals and Chargers. I may have missed a few teams but you get my point.

With that said, the top three teams that will be disgustingly bad and have the worst losing records, with the worst QB situation is the Jets, Jaguars and 49ers. If I'm correct, there will be 4-6 QBs that will be drafted in the first round or have first round grades. Without knowing their names, the USC QB being the best. The Wyoming and then UCLA QBs after. So if the USC QB does come out, will the Jets be bad and lose enough to get him? I think we all need to face facts, especially me that Hack is most likely a bust or needs more time, WOW!!! and Petty isn't the answer either (I figured that out last year.) So will McCown fuck this up for us and win 4-5 games and take us out the #1 spot race? Thoughts!!!

Can't argue that. Here's my thinking, the Jets are going to be so bad offensively that will McCown even make it past game 3 without getting injured? His old ass will be a sitting duck behind this oline. I don't wish injury on any player except Tom Brady but McCown doesn't stand a chance here. Even if he does stay healthy past week three, with the offensive talent and the fact that he isn't even a good QB, what is he supposed to do with this? I'll give him 1 win at most in about 5 games and he will be benched. Then Hack and/or Petty comes in and they continue to lose for a 2 win season at most. Don't think TB and the CS will have a choose but to put the youngsters in for a 2 win or worse type of season.

Ok, so McCown is announced the starter. I say he gets hurt by games 3-5 or benched because of his play by game 3-5, Petty comes in and gets hurt and/or his play gets him off the field by games 8-10 and Hack finishes the season. Jets combined with all three horrible QBs for 1-2 wins max and they draft Darnold or Allen. Only bright spot to this season period. 49ers are a horrible team but I don't think their as bad as us and Jacksonville is actually a good team. Just horrible QB play. So Jets are looking good for the #1 or 2 draft spot.

Well, my hope is Toilet and Mac are truly as bad as I think they as are. If that's the case, the Jets go a perfect 0-16, get the 1st overall pick and Woody cleans house at the end of the season.

And we give the keys to the franchise to John Gruden to coach and be head of signing players with a figurehead gm. He then picks darnold and we roll with them. That's how I dream it anyway.

That's as good of a selection as any the way I see it? Biggest plus is it's not Toilet and Mac? Good post.

Actually PFF graded the Jets OL as the 5th best in the NFL this off season. Seems like they are putting most of the problems on Hack.

The Jets OL owns the 5th highest pass blocking efficiency this preseason. Team leaders: Harrison 100.0 Shell 98.8 Qvale 98.8 Dozier 98.1

Hackenberg has been pressured on 28% of his dropbacks (NFL avg = 34%). Under pressure though, he is 4/9 for 11 yards with an INT & 6 sacks.

Don't see how the hell this is possible. Is this a joke? No way in hell our oline is ranked that high. They just said the entire line is still fighting so set starters, so how is this possible,

Hack could make the Dallas OL look bad.

EXACTLY. I already heard that claim by PFF in another thread my only reaction is to laugh? That's a situation where a website is crunching numbers given to them and NOT actually watching the games? They couldn't be. There's such a thing as the "eye test" in football and the very second you give the Jets OL the eye test, you'll know with no uncertain terms that PFF has a huge red herring on their hands.

It's amazing what a QB does for an OL..... Hack is the problem this OL is above average...(starters). this is exactly what Colon was saying about Petty yesterday... In Practice with the 1's he said Petty looked good and the offense looked quick and efficient...

So knock the OL all you want guys but the QB making a wrong blitz call, making slow reads will make the best OL's look bad.

I watched about a quarter of Wyoming game yesterday, and Allen was not impressive at all from what I saw. SamD didn't exactly light up the stat board either, though I didn't see game.

I actually like what Maccagnan is doing. He cleaned house and is allowing this team grow together. My problem is coach Bowles. His demeanor is so lifeless that it spreads to the entire team. There are no tactics or schemes for these young players to follow.

Just me thinking out loud, if the Jets are in fact in a position in the top 3 to land a future franchise QB, no way do i feel this organization will allow Todd to groom him. At that point i feel Woody will try to go the Late Leon Hess route ( as he finally hired Bill Parcells) and select an actual bona-fide HC that's been there done that approach. That guy IMO would be Sean Payton. That is if New Orleans flops this season.

No more 'Farm club for HC's" as this franchise has become. Get some one that can help these young players, not hinder them with no direction.
