[h=1]Multiple teams request Lamar Jackson to work out as WR[/h]
Could Lamar Jackson pull double duty this weekend in Indianapolis?

Multiple NFL teams have requested for the dual-threat Lousiville quarterback to work out as a wide receiver, in addition to working out as a QB, Good Morning Football's Peter Schrager reported Friday, per a source informed of the situation.

Jackson hasn't announced yet if he will work out as a wideout.

In three years at Louisville, Jackson caught a grand total of zero passes for zero yards. He was, however, one of the nation's greatest ground threats, racking up 4,132 rushing yards and 50 rushing scores in 38 games.

Citing Jackson's size, athleticism and questionable accuracy, some analysts, most notably former Bills and Colts GM Bill Polian, have suggested that Jackson should change positions at the next level. That view point is not necessarily shared by all of the coaches and GMs making personnel decisions.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid and Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome, for instance, have no interest in seeing Jackson work out at any other position.

"Yeah, I'm not much on that," Reid said Wednesday. "I want to bring him in. Let's exhaust that other thing that we know he's good at and see. I'm just saying in general. This is a general statement: Let's get him in and let him wing it a little bit and see how he does. We'll be able to fit some things in there I'm sure."

Newsome said Friday, "On our board, he's a quarterback."

Jackson is scheduled to speak at the NFL Scouting Combine at 4:30 p.m. ET on Friday. He is also slated to work out with the QBs on Saturday.

[h=1]Ohio State OL Billy Price suffers partially torn pec[/h]
One of the top offensive linemen in the draft suffered a setback Thursday.

Ohio State offensive lineman Billy Price suffered a partially torn pectoral muscle while participating in the bench press, sources told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Speaking at the combine Friday morning, Price described it as an "incomplete" tear and said it was a minor injury. The interior lineman told reporters he should be fine for the season and the start of training camp.

"I'm not worried about this at all. This is something where I'm gonna come back stronger," Price said. "You're gonna really have to put a bullet between us Ohio State guys' eyes to put us down. So I'm looking to get back out there and whatever team ends up selecting me, we're going to be 100 percent going into it."

The MRI results came in Friday morning, and it's not yet clear if surgery is required.

Before suffering the injury, Price was measured at 6-foot-3 3/4 and 305 pounds with 32-inch arms, earning physical comparisons to Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey.

Price was considered by NFL Network draft svengali Mike Mayock as a top-five interior offensive lineman.

[h=1]Orlando Brown struggling through NFL Combine workout[/h]
INDIANAPOLIS -- Oklahoma OT Orlando Brown is having a rough go of it at the NFL Scouting Combine, generating questions about his overall athleticism and placing greater importance on his Oklahoma pro day performance on March 14.

The son of the late Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle by the same name, Brown finished at the bottom of the list among offensive linemen in his group in the 40-yard dash (5.85), and the vertical jump (19.5 inches). His bench press total (14 reps at 225 pounds) was the position-worst, as well.

Although Brown's workout isn't yet complete, NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt sees declining stock in the results so far. Brandt's tweet refers to one of Brown's unofficial 40 times:

[TWEET]969589758719602689[/TWEET]

Brown measured 6-foot-7 7/8 and 345 pounds at the combine weigh-in. He struggled with weight for much of his life until he was able to carry roughly 350 pounds well enough to be one of the top left tackles in the Big 12 Conference. He entered the combine projected as a first-round pick by NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein, but the arrow is pointing down for him in Indianapolis.

Saquon Barkley runs unofficial 4.41

I wouldn't be surprised if they traded up to get him and take their QB in round 2. He is a difference maker and the more you hear about the QBs in the top the more you realize they are all projects so why not get a superstar when you can. Heck, with him in our line up any of the notable free agent QBs would fare well.

Giants are taking Saquon Barkley at #2 and would be considered idiotic if they pass on him...

If by chance a team trades up with the Browns to take Saquon that is the only way the Giants won't get him...

Highly doubt the Browns have the BALLS to take Barkley at #1 Overall... Even tho this kid you can build a team around...

I think you are right about this. I personally wouldn't trade up to get him. I just wouldn't be surprised to see the Jets do it because of what a player of that caliber brings to an offense. I think you could accomplish almost, if not the same, with Nick Chubb and a couple other of the running backs in this years draft. I don't think I'd trade up for anyone this year if it was up to me.

thats why I like Sony Michel he is a that physical runner in the hole that has a 2nd and 3rd gear... His second gear is his shiftiness and quickness while he is able to covert power running into a home run threat... The same can be said about Rashaad Penny and Roc Thomas in the mid to late rounds...

for us we need that go to guy to immediately be inserted and allow both Mcguire and Powell be the compliment and Michel is that guy...

to note about RBs the Jets are looking into a pair of FAs in Dion Lewis and Doug Martin which could be in play why they won't draft high on a RB but if they do it would be in the 2nd not the 1st... If Sony Michel is there after Barkley and Guice go in the first then they would be stupid to pass on Michel... Powell doesn't have many more years left and he is also entering contract year where the team may well walk on him after this upcoming season... Mcguire is a good not great running back that is a good receiving back but his pass blocking is less to be desired... Investing in the long term this year would be a smart move...

I like Michel too and I really like Penny. I watched him play this year. I don't know his 40yd time but the guy is shifty, powerful, and has good ball skills. On second thought I do know his 40yd time thanks to your post right above. He was really impressive this year and I believe I mentioned him before.

Billy Price got hurt during bench press. Nelson is strong, but McGlinchey is really strong with 35 reps and he has long arms. Is Nelson a better guard than McGlinchey is a LT? We need both by the way.

McGlinchy had 24 reps , Nelson had 35 reps and Will Hernandez had 37.
Nelson's arm length was 34 3/4 inch.
McGlinchy's 35.
Nelson is much more athletic, is a much better guard, than McGlinchy is a tackle and there is buzz that Nelson could play tackle at the NFL level.

I know I started that buzz LOL... it took like wild fire just because of his athleticism he could start at guard and make the move to left tackle in a zone blocking scheme...

I just hope that Orlando Brown's pre-combine workout of heavy doses of XBox Madden will help him in his interviews, because it sure didn't help his measureables.

Baker Mayfield is definitely moving his needle in the right direction. Has the arm and the attitude to play in NY, IMHO. I would not be disappointed in a choice of either Mayfield or Allen. I'm counting less and less on Cousins signing with us (think we are the 3rd option behind Vikes and Denver, and will be used as leverage to jack up the asking price), and need to be prepared to take one of the QBs in the first. Not necessarily ideal, but in the long run might be the best thing.

Orlando Brown clearly was not prepared for the combine, and or doesn't care. He can redeem himself at pro day, but has a lot of explaining to do. Love that Shaq Griffin, the one handed LB from UCF had 20 reps with use of prosthetic. Kid is really something else, and hope he lives his dream in the NFL.
Was listening to an NFL GM on the radio the other day and he was talking about the importance of bench reps at combine for OL. He said that anything over 20 is ok with him, but too many (like in the 40's) may indicate a real lack of flexibility. Interesting - can anyone say Vernon Gholston?
