So it really ends up being the 157 for 180 and 204.

yup... our top end 5th for 2 shitty 6ths...

I wouldn't mind trading our 5th but get a 4th next year plus a 6 or 7th this year but damn...

Jets take with the 179th pick Corner Parry Nickerson from Tulane

Nickerson is a gritty, undersized cornerback who possesses some of the more impressive ball skills in this year's draft. His lack of size and length will likely force him into the slot where his athletic ability and technique should allow him to make his mark. Nickerson is tough, smart and instinctive, but he needs to prove he can hold up as an NFL tackler. He should compete for a role as nickel cornerback early in his career.

Jets take with the 180th pick DT Folorunso Fatukasi from UConn

Fatukasi is raw but talented and offers a well-built, versatile defender who can be played at a variety of positions by teams who employ varied defensive fronts. He needs to improve at the point of attack, but that could happen if he's asked to slant less and improves technique as a two-gapper. Fatukasi's flashes of power and disruption could be foreshadowing a future as a quality NFL starter with the ability to play on passing downs if he can reach his potential.

Not impressed with either of those picks. CB and DT were'n't our biggest needs.

I know it's obsolete at the top end, but value chart makes it a wash, 28 points for 28 points.

Later rounds, I'm not sure you are really looking that closely at need. Most late rounders aren't going to be major contributors in their positions at first, more special teamers and projects. So need isn't as big a part of it as it is in, say, middle rounds.

I can actually see Nickerson compete for playing time at the nickel... 4.32 40 is better than 4.6 Buster Skrine, lmao!!!

We passed on at least 5 edge rushers and 2 of them Sweat and Haynes are pretty darn good and that is a position of need. We could use a good OT rather than a DT too in my opinion. What we got were MAYBES.

Oh, I would have been happy taking a shot at Sweat. I wanted him. As for OL, I think in general we have enough of the type of guys we'd likely find in the later rounds. Between Qvale, Ijalana, Harrison, Dozier, Swanson, guys like that, we have the depth. What we don't have are the top-level guys, and those generally cost high picks, as shown this year.

Parry Nickerson

5' 10"+, ran a 4.32 and only allowed two TD's over the past two years with 11 INT's.

Gotta give Mac credit, I didn't even know this guy existed, but that is one hell of a resume.

Are the Jets willing to risk taking OT Desmond Harrison with their final pick in RD 6?

Harrison is a first round talent, but failed a drug test.

If not, if they’d rather play it safe, some how E. St. Brown (WR, Notre Dame) is still available.

Jets take with 204th pick RB Trenton Cannon from Virginia State

Tremendously explosive change-of-pace runner who will need to live in the cafeteria and the weight room early on to help build his frame up to NFL standards. Cannon has juice for days and that big-play ability in space will be very appealing to teams as a likely undrafted free agent. Cannon can catch it and has a history of handling kick return duties when needed so that may be enough to help him find a practice squad this season.

OK, I'm good with this pick. He missed some playing time because of a transfer as I recall but this kid can run. I don't hate Mac any more but we still need that edge guy.
