Week 1 is almost in the Books. Just my personal observations and opinions.

The top draft prospects were for the most part underwhelming against much lesser competition. None more so than Dante Moore. His stat line looks better than he did. Poor ball placement was a real issue. Bailed out by some circus catches. Receivers had to stop and wait on passes allowing defenders to catch up. Really disappointed.
Arch Manning had a bad interception throwing into triple coverage in the end zone but everything was working and Texas was on their way to a Blowout win.
Leavitt threw an early pic but rebounded and look great. Rushed for a couple of scores and looked great doing so. His foot seems completely healed.
Jayden Maiava looked great but vs Fresno St and then he's at USC ugh...
Saying looked very good but again vs Ball state.
Trinidad Chambliss and CJ Carr both play tonight.
The real standout was Mensah from UM.
Under alot of pressure early, he made all the throws. In the pocket, on the run, against a tough Stanford D. Beautiful ball placement, leading recievers open. Definitely a QB to watch going forward. Could be the best in the class.
Feel free to add your thoughts and observations.
I will try to keep up weekly if health allows.

I have no thoughts cause I didn’t watch any of it but great idea for a thread.

I’m gonna sticky this and put you in charge of updating it every week.

I got a chance to watch bits and pieces of the Miami vs. Stanford game and that kid Mensah was very impressive!

Mensah was very impressive indeed. He may be the surprise #1 overall pick with his size and IF his performance continues.

The refs got the assist on the Michigan TD pass that shouldn't have happened. The TD, the yards and the completion should be deducted from the QB's stats.
Perish the thought that TWO Big 10 schools would lose to lesser opponents on one weekend.
And, Lots of props to UMASS for beating the other one, Rutgers.

Mensah has the height but he’s light in the ass. He needs to put on some weight. I’d say a solid 10 pounds of muscle before next years draft and you could very well be right!

Underwood looked very underwhelming in the game but he’s only a sophomore. He’ll have the rest of this and next year to make up for it. Chambliss was rock solid yesterday. Louisville is a solid opponent and Ole Miss won mainly because of his decision making and his pin point accuracy. Impressive!

Last night's games featured 2 QBs who could be 1st round picks come April.
CJ Carr and Trinidad Chambliss.
Carr had a turnover on the first possession on a strip sack where the pocket collapsed immediately. Both tackled and the center were beaten immediately. He recovered nicely with a TD drive to end the 1st quarter. He was very efficient the rest of the way ,had some impressive throws, showed excellent ball placement and ability to attack the defenses soft spots. Any concerns about his foot injury from last season were put to rest with over 100 yard on the ground 9 plus yards per attempt and 2 TDs . Very good game but still has a way to go to move in the top half of the draft.
Trinidad Chambliss did absolutely nothing to sway anyone's opinion on the most polarizing prospect in this class. The first half displayed all of his shortcomings. A fumble lost, 1 interception, 2 dropped interceptions, a few passes batted down. Only 3 passes over 10 yards, 2 that should have been TDs but the first was way too high causing the WR to have to jump and fully extend allowing the defender to catch up and make the tackle. The second had a wide open WR behind the coverage who had to toe tap to haul in the pass thrown across the sideline. Both were thrown from a clean pocket. The second half showed why he is in the conversation. He was more accurate with 3 long passes that were impressively accurate, hitting the receiver in stride , 2 resulting in TDs. The talent is there, size and inconsistencies are still the problems after week 1.
