49ers trade with Fins for #3 pick

Worried about Wilson's weak performance against Coastal Carolina. One of few good opponents he faced. Guy hasnt been tested against top talent

I personally think Wilson is going to be a bust. I'm hoping I'm wrong in that thinking but I don't feel good about this pick.

It's a shame that due to the dumpster fire teams he's been on we don't really know what they have in Darnold. But until they KNOW that they have their franchise QB then they had best keep picking QBs. Better to have too many than not enough.

That trade tells you how important drafting a QB is to a team. Jets drafting Wilson and no way I would take a trade like 49ers to give away Wilson.

I'm reading that 49er brain-trust will be attending Mac Jones' pro day instead of Justin Fields'. He clearly is much more ready to play than Fields, so makes sense for a team that's built to win now to select him. That's also why there weren't interested in paying even more to move up to #2, because they knew jets weren't selecting Jones.

I think the interesting part is that the 49ers trading up to #3 meant to many scribes and talking heads that Jets were definitely picking Wilson at #2. I think, and obviously I'm speculating, is that it isn't the slam dunk that many are now saying. A big part of the lead up to the draft is misinformation and that includes the perception of the Jets sent Douglas, Saleh and LaFleur to BYU because Wilson was their guy. I think it is very possible that they liked what they saw, but so did everyone else who was QB needy. The price tag is going up all the time and if so inclined Joe D can parlay that to a kings ransom. I'm not saying it is a definite, just more of a hunch.
