Here's johnny again waving his pom poms and making his case in favor of his lovemate Geno the worst QB in the NFLLike it or not, Fitz is also on this list. The Jets cannot get crazy trying to keep him when he is not the future. Knowing the Jets though they will give him $30 million and cripple the team for the next 30 years.

Sorry Johnny Fitzpatrick is staying until Petty or someone else is ready and Geno the BUST is going away the day after the Jets season concludes
sure..I said nothing about Geno and the Fitz decision is separate. Like it or not there is a good chance Fitz is not a Jet next year.
sure..
& let me guess, in this scenario smith is the starting QB again??
why would anyone think you were??No. I would doubt it. I am not a Geno fan at all. Petty is much more a gate on the decision.
Let's stop making this a Geno thread.
Like someone has mentioned in another thread that the coaches have moved on from him. It's only time that our fan base does too.
agreed..In my opinion it would be silly for the team to not bring in Fitz next year.
yeah, well here's the thing.. fitzpatrick has had his best two seasons of his career this year & last.. that alone counts for a lot because he's still only 33..Because apparently thinking Fitz is a complete JAG is the same as being a Geno fan in other's eyes

bottom line, you can poo poo us silly fitzpatrick fans that believe he's given the jets big boy QB play for the first time since favre lead us to 8-3 us much as you like.. but to pretend to know that his teammates & coaching staff are dopes for believing in him is laughable..
I suggest eating your crow & moving on.. or keep barking at the moon..
life is short, do what makes you happy..
Please just stop embarrassing yourselfNear the bottom of the NFL in QB rating, YPA, yards per game (yet 14th in attempts), has cost us at least 2 games with his play and won 1 (last week) has made numerous questionable decisions. He has been solid in avoiding sacks and fumbles and has been an opportunistic runner. He is unable to get quick scores, has really only run a couple of effective hurry up sequences (he is so poor at these because of arm strength that Bowles has opted not to even try a few times) and has had the benefit of Marshall playing inspired football and saving him multiple times, and Decker is healthy and one of the best #2 WR in the NFL, yet we should hang our star on this guy? No way, we are not winning games because of Fitz. Period. And even when he plays essentially perfect as he did the last couple weeks he still is not really that effective. He is at best average yet people want to sign on for me or him. Life is short, accept mediocrity if it makes you happy. Mediocre in the NFL does not work. And you cannot discount how easy our schedule is. The fact that Fitz is at best average with the teams we are playing is very very sad.
I would take Fitz's 'average' over Geno's best any day of the week.Near the bottom of the NFL in QB rating, YPA, yards per game (yet 14th in attempts), has cost us at least 2 games with his play and won 1 (last week) has made numerous questionable decisions. You are now one of only a maybe three posters here still tooting your horn for Geno
All the others have come forward, admitted they were dead wrong, that Fitzpatrick was the right choice from day one and saluted him for saving the 2015 Jet season
i hope you're wrong about petty.. time will tell..HYATT™;64601 said:Fitz will get a 2-3 year contract offer.
He'll take it.
It won't be crazy money but it'll reflect winning QB money of around $12M per year or so - and most of it will be upfront so as to not hamstring the cap down the road.
It's the going rate, you aren't going to sign anyone else as good as him for less, unless it's a 1st contract draft pick QB.
Hate to break it to Petty fans but he is NOT the Jets future franchise QB.
He's a filler, a stop-gap, just in case.
The next Jets franchise QB is still in college.
Personal opinion, mind you, but MSU's Connor Cook - winner of the Unitas Golden Arm Award - COULD be that guy.
He's got all the parts, - talent, intangibles, durability, smarts, and a Pro Set college background, behind him.
Plus he'll be in the BCS playoffs this year & could conceivably win a National Championship.
For the Jets' sake HYATT™ hopes he doesn't, because he could well be available in the draft then.
There are a lot of teams that do not need a QB at the top of the draft and a long list of very talented prospects at a lot of positions other than QB in 2016.
In a way, making the playoffs could be the worst possible scenario for the Jets this season.
If they don't, they could well have a REAL solid shot at Cook.
HYATT™ would settle for knocking Hoodie out in the WC round and then losing the divisional round and still get a pick in the 20s that might be enough to get Cook.
