I’ve been thinking about this and I believe I’m truly starting the lean towards AG being on a true hot seat this year. I originally was against this and I was definitely against him even possibly being fired last season. It was his first season and that would have been crazy to can him with the way the Jets go through this coaching carousel, like their in a candy store.
However; last season, AG first season as a head coach ever went so bad, that we have to see a vast improvement this year or he has to go! I say this because if it does go horribly bad again, then the Jets will be looking to draft a 1st round QB and you can’t start that rookie off with a coaching staff that you have no confidence in! Especially with the way last season went, it was disgraceful!
Now I originally felt that AG needed at least 3 years before he was on the hot seat but with the way last season went, WOW and WTF! The Jets need to win 7-8 games at least with either QB. Especially if it’s Geno starting the entire year or AG has to go. To be honest, I want to say that if Geno plays the entire year, the Jets have to make the playoffs for AG to keep his job.
Problem with that is, I personally have no faith in Geno to lead this team to the playoffs and I don’t think he’ll do it. So I’ll just say 7-8 wins with Geno and maybe AG saves his job. True development in Klubnik would be nice also. Now the question is, if Geno gets benched or hurt what will the requirements be with the rookie leading the team???
I’m going to say that the rookie shows he can be our franchise QB and the Jets win 7-8 games. This is all centered around AG building this team overall into a winner. IMO, that’s starts with the Jets finding a true franchise QB and if we don’t have that with Klubnik, then Geno better make the Jets a tuff ass team to beat or what’s the point of either AG or Geno being here next year!
