All Things DARELLE REVIS

If the offers are equal, I believe he stays a Patriot.

Agreed, which is why I'm not buying Woody's line about not overspending. In my mind he needs this to save face for not signing Revis last year, he also needs some kind of a win for the Jet fans that had to suffer through last season while sitting on a bunch of cap room. I know some opinions differ, but I believe you're going to see Woody do something ridiculous here and then try and spin it as market value.

The Jets have a ton of money they are mandated to spend, and are not doing a very good job of it so far. They may kill two birds with one stone with the Revis contract

The only thing that Woody could do to get Revis to leave(I believe anyway) would be a 3 year $50 mil deal that is fully guaranteed. The average matches up to what Revis has always wanted and obviously going above and beyond by guaranteeing the entire deal. I don't see it though. I see two out of Culliver/Cro/Skrine signing with the Jets.

It's possible, but I really think that anywhere from a million to a few million more may be the difference. The closer to equal cash it is and I still think he signs with New England. Then there is the possibility a team comes out of nowhere at 4pm and blows him away. I doubt it, but it's possible.

Problem is it's not money per year only... it will be length of contract as well... My guess is Pats offer 2 years for 37 Mill with the 2nd year being similar to this year. They will be able to cut him and not hurt their cap..... I think Jets can easily beat it that with a 4 year 70 mill offer with the 4th year a non guaranteed year... Question is will they

The Pats aren't offering him 2 years, there's no way that's happening, it would be a waste of time for both of them. You're talking about a real contract 4-5 years at a range that makes him the highest paid CB in the league, because anything short of that is isn't even getting a team in the running. After that it's about how much guaranteed money and how's it structured year to year. The bottom line is I believe 40 mil guaranteed is the floor and it goes up from there.

You are probably a great guy but to be honest I am tired of reading about the Pats here. Why not try a Pats board.

Gotta spend the money on someone. Might as well be Revis. Welcome back, Darrelle (hopefully).

Well I was in no way having a conversation with you so feel free not to read my responses. There are other Jets fans here that seem to like having civil discussions with their rival fans so have a nice day.

What kind of Cap space do the Bills have?

Not enough for him plus I can't imagine him playing in Buffalo Rex or not.

The only thing I'm enjoying about this is how ridiculous Belichick's mouthpieces on the NFL network(Willie Mcginest & Heath Evans) and ESPN (Teddy Brushi) look when they said that Revis would give the Pats a hometown discount and buy into the "Patriot Way". He very well may be a Patriot when all is said and done, but they are going to have to pay big for it to happen.
