Jets special-teamer Antonio Allen said he was onside during the game-altering penalty he was called for during Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Dolphins.

Allen was ruled offside on the Jets' kickoff with 5:42 left in the fourth quarter. On that kickoff, the Jets tackled Dolphins returner Jakeem Grant at the Miami 19 yard line.

Kenyan Drake then returned the re-kick 96 yards for a touchdown that gave the Dolphins a 27-23 lead.

"As far as I'm concerned, I was onside," Allen told reporters after the game. "I went back and looked at the picture [on the sideline], and I was clearly onside. I don't even know what to say."

Allen didn't argue the call on the field, but it would't have mattered if he did.

"I didn't even go ask [the official who called the penalty], because what's the use of asking him," he said. "If they throw the flag, they can't change anything. I'm pretty upset, because we just took the momentum. [Drake's touchdown return] sucked the momentum right out of us."
