They don't have to do anything they do not want to, so the whole scenario is silly. Really, what they should do is trade down at this point. Odds are Mariota will be off the board. To select Cooper at 6 and add to a very good talent base already? That would be a waste of the equity in that pick.
If they trade down, they can add multiple picks for their trouble, still get a QB, OL, OLB, and a WR later on in say the 4th round or so. There will still be some good talents in WR's in round 4 IMO.
That to me, would be the best approach and that would still honor the theory behind taking the BPA.
