IMHO, smith's problems with many jets fans is almost equal parts on the field & off..

he has less of a chance to resurrect his career here then sanchez did (which means none) mostly because he's so unlikable..

Number one, he is a bad football player. Just hard to deny that realistically.

Two, he just comes across as such a jerk. Sanchez, as you mentioned, was not a very good football player either, but he was a likable kid (I like him a lot better on the Eagles)

I seldom bash, or actually dislike players and coaches that are still with the Jets, smith is a rare case. I'll be a a lot happier when he is gone next season.
